As a third generation AFC Bournemouth I hear endless tales of St Harry working miracles with a budget of about 18p and a band of ruffians- Harry's successes seem to come without the vast money pots that make temporary success so easy, he is the best at wining with what is given to him, not what he can buy.

He's already said Pompey will be his last job in football and why on earth would any manager in his right mind set themselves up for such a huge fall? Damned if you do damned if you don't in that job! You can see how much Harry rates English players by looking at this team, Sean Davis, Sol Campbell David James and er, er oh yeah that's it unless Matt Taylor makes the bench.

We need to move forward not backward, Harry Redknapp is no where near good enough to manage England

It's a part time job except for a month or so every 2 years (or 4 if the last manager's called Maclaren)...let him choose a couple of young assistants (pearce and shearer?)and pompey don't need to lose him.... Oh and Wazza, if it really is you, the weight of bone in your head is one of the things that make you a good football player, don't try thinking, your brain will explode;-)

Harry Redknapp should be the next England manager he is english and portsmouth are 6th in the premiership making him the most successful englinsh manager in england. He is patriotic and can lead us on to the world cup in 2010, and he has 2 years to put right the damage done by maclaren.

being a good manager in the premiership does not mean he will make it as England coach, Sven has proved that with a pick from any player in the world he can asssemble a side good enough to be challenging near the top of the table, Redknapp has done the same at Portsmouth, it's a different kettle of fish when you can only pick english players most of which cannot get a regular place in the first team at their respected clubs. Until the future talent of england can get regular football in england then, every england manager will face the same dilemma!

It shouldn't be 'a different kettle of fish' when it comes to managing England. English players are easily good enough to succeed in International football but you have to have a manager able to get them playing to their ability, putting in the effort and in a style that they are comfortable with. The mess England are in they were in long before McClaren. It was in trouble before Sven who came in and changed our system to something I don't think our players were naturally happy with and by the time he'd finished we were in a worse state than before! McClaren inherited the problems but did not have the knowledge, ability or experience to rectify things. The new manager HAS to have those qualities as well as an understanding of how things are done abroad. Harry is the obvious and ideal choice. The players will respect him (half the team have played for him at some point and he helped make them the stars they are now). McClaren did not have the personality to instill passion in the team, something with which Ha
