Arsene Wenger is king, let me start by saying that. Spurs and Liverpool fans have already written articles for Sportingo picking their manager's best and worst signings, so I've now looked into the the great Frenchman's purchases and sales during his time in charge of the Gunners.

Below, I've named my top three is each category. You may disagree with my selections, that’s life I guess, but I'm keen to hear your opinions on this subject so please leave your own selections in the comment box.

WORST THREE (Thankfully not that many to choose from, but here goes)

1) Igor Stepanovs (Skonto Riga, £1m): So much out of his depth I felt quite sorry for the Latvian international and his flailing attempts at defending. He made 17 league starts in four years and, boy, were they painful to watch! The 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford was the most graphic example of his ineptitude.

2) Francis Jeffers (Everton, £8m): It was hard to know what Arsene was thinking when he invested £8m for the ‘Fox in the box’. I think we all knew it wouldn’t work. The fact that the Scouser’s career has gone from bad to worse proves that he simply was not as good as the hype that surrounded his start at Everton. I very much doubt he will play another Premier League game.

3) Richard Wright (Ipswich, £6m): Another signing from Goodison, another player who's career has slumped alarmingly since she left north London. A few high-profile errors highlighted the goalkeeper's shortcomings; happily we off-loaded him fairly quickly and made back some of the £6m outlay.

BEST THREE

1) Kolo Toure (ASEC Abidjan, £150k): Has grown and grown since his arrival in 2002 and is as consistent as he is determined. The fee of £150,000 paid for his services is incredible, he is now worth 100 times that figure and is still only 26!

2) Thierry Henry (Juventus, £10.5m): What can you say about TH14? I know he’s gone but he will never be forgotten, so much has been said about the transformation Thierry went through under Wenger’s guidance; it’s all been said but I think the best way to sum up the great man is 338 games, 226 goals.

3) Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona, free): The boy is a genius and has the footballing world at his feet. He's already a legend at 20, another example of Arsene’s uncanny ability to pick up great talents. Recently bombarded with rumours that he was planning to move back to Spain, thankfully Cesc has made it abundantly clear he wants to stay.
