I'm Not Going Anywhere
Actually thinking about it, my managers tactics seem to be to hoof the ball forward and bypass the midfield altogether so it's probably best I do leave this sh** pit after all. We won't even be in Liverpool in a few years, so much for being the people's club of the city.

I really hope this one does not happen,Carrick showed no loyalty to Spurs when Ferguson courted him.Jol had given him his big chance and put him on the Premiership stage showing belief in a player who was a regular second team player. Why would he want to come back and if he did would he perform at 100% for the team.
IN RAFA WE TRUST R I P THEM POOR BRAZILIAN FANS OF BAHIA KILLED WHEN THE STADIUM FELL APART YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

It's hardly like chelscum tapping up thickie Cole, is it?

Great player but can someone ask sportingo why wenger would want yet another central midfielder when Diaby and Gilberto cant even get a game? Pure fantasy

I've just had a word with my old mucker Sven and he told me he will make an offer for Torres in January. Apparently not only does Torres have a 25 million selling-trigger clause, but also a clause that states Liverpool may not block a transfer to a(nother) Premiership club. City have already begun negotiations with Torres agent and are prepared to include a clause in his contract that will provide Torres with double wages for each game he does NOT play (except for injury) for 19 games (accross seasons if applicable). Sven sees him as a partner for the soon-to-return Bojinov and wants to ASSURE Torres that City see him as a starter for every game (hence the unusual contract term).

Not too sure where you got those rumours. Why would anyone want to leave Utd especially Carrick.Defoe will be in the same predicament.
...posting as Arteta: Jesus, was David Blunkett describing the Everton game to you? "..up to Crouch....to Crouch..long ball to Crouch...Gerrard, 50 yards to Crouch" etc.
by Xabi Alonso on November 26, 2007
...only for Everton, for sure, too many Esapanas at Liverpool...I go so for join Mikel and we make fine Basque middle park men, for sure
by frank on November 26, 2007
Great player and would want champs league football so might consider going but ... £10 - £12m. In today's market place that will get you 2 thirds of Darren Bent. I should think they'd have to double that figure to get their man.

I have no doubt that in the next 18 months Arteta will leave Everton. But it won't be for Arsenal. Who do you get your facts from? Yesterday it was that Chelsea had won more than Everton, today Arteta is leaving for 10m. So you think Torres is worth 18m more? Arteta is worth 20m of anyones money. And if Arsenal wont pay it (which they wont) then Real or Athletico will. Everton have made him what he is. Rangers didnt and he didnt settle at spain. We had Rooney and lost him. We may well lose this genious too but it will be the going rate and the highest bidder. Everton hoof, 7-1 seems a good enough result to me. You sound like a kopite to me?

i think this would b a good deal especially for us, we've missed carrick's passing abilities and he could dominate games unlike jenas and zokora
by John Smith on November 26, 2007
How many times does he have to say he's more than happy to be at Everton? Not all players want to jump ship for the "big four" as soon as they can, Arteta wants to be part of what Everton are building. As soon as a player starts doing well for Everton, the media wants to unsettle him. Andy Johnson, homesick and wants to go crying back to London? Signing a new contract would be the last thing he'd do if that was the case. Every few weeks some rag either twists Mikel's words into saying he wants to leave, dig up a quote from half a decade ago, or even completely fabricate a story about him wanting to leave. When these stories do emerge, they spread like wildfire, with the media seemingly delighted to report that he wants to leave. What are these "various" sources anyway? Furthermore, Luis Aragones is an idiot, if he ever bothered to watch Arteta he'd soon see that he is a better player than Alonso, and if a competent non-racist was in charge of Spain, Arteta would have long been called up. £10-12 million, try
by Thomas on November 26, 2007
Yeah we would just let Arsenal buy him wouldn't we when we are looking really good at the moment and probably better than a so called top 4 side Liverpool? You really are idiots and 10-12 million haha I could laugh that off your saying Darren Bent is worth more get a life you idiot. And hasn't he already said he loves it at Everton you idiot?
by Svender on November 26, 2007
Arteta and Cesc battling battling directly for a midfield spot... at club AND country... genius reporting.. that's just really clever journalism... :D (Laughable!)
by Tiny on November 26, 2007
We may have missed Carrick, but no way do we want him back, we will keep the 18 million thanks Sir Alex, let the dis-loyal bastard go back to West Ham, on wards and upwards for Juande and the boys.
by Spurs4Ever on November 26, 2007
Yes to Carrick coming back to Spurs. Great player and better than Zokora and useless Jenas. Let Defoe go to Manure but only as as a straight swap for Carrick. Dont need Defoe and I feel sorry for him as he is a great striker but needs a move to get back into the England team first 11.

I'm bored of these rumours. I've got one for you: Mark Apostolou is reportedly going to be signed by Sky Sports for a record breaking 900 million carrots.
by Mike Jones on November 26, 2007
As a tottenham fan i think carrick is crap i was so happy when he left especially as we got £18mil for him i didnt think he was worth anywhere near that much so a good deal for us :D
by Gaz on November 26, 2007
Basically this article is the biggest load of bull ive ever heard. Please tell me why Everton would sell Arteta for £12m? Hes on a 5 year contract, only 25 years old and is one of the top ten best players in the Premier League. Plus the fact hes not even for sale and very happy at an ever-improving Everton side. Get a life and clearly stop making porkie pies.
by Seif Henry on November 26, 2007
Considering we have an idiot playing in midfield, we definetely need Arteta. I think this idiot goes by the name of Sesk Phabregaz, but to be honest with you I'm not sure (me not knowing his name just highlights how unknown he is to the football world). Clearly Arteta is the man to bring if we want to solve this crisis.
