Recent newspaper reports seem to be indicating that a certain Fabio Capello will take over the reins as  England boss very shortly. Of course, newspaper articles must be approached with a certain degree of caution but let us explore the possibility of England having a coach who has won everything there is to be won in club football, the most prevalent form of the beautiful game in this present climate.

Capello has managed AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus (shrouded in controversy) and AS Roma. These are four huge clubs who have all had considerable success in their own domestic leagues as well as on the European stage. In fact, barring Roma,  the other three have won the Champions League an incredible 18 times in total.

Capello guided AC Milan to four Scudettos in fve years and also achieved a Scudetto for Roma, only their second domestic crown in their 80-year history. He has guided Real Madrid to two Spanish league titles in two years which is a remarkable feat, considering the problems last season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

'Maybe the fans want Jose Mourinho - would he have the guts to drop Frank Lampard or John Terry if they were not playing well? Is his CV as big as Capello's? Is he experienced enough to handle the pressure?'

But despite this impressive CV, this man does not believe in entertaining. He believes in WINNING and really, as an England supporter who has not seen his country win anything for 41 years, it's about time we got someone in who can just do the job.

One can argue that Real Madrid were not entertaining last season but I beg to differ. The football may not have been amazing like that seen in the Camp Nou, Emirates, Old Trafford or the San Siro, but that amazing win against Espanyol has got to go down as one of the best comebacks of the season.

Maybe the fans want Jose Mourinho - would he have the guts to drop Frank Lampard or John Terry if they were not playing well? Is his CV as big as Capello's? Is he experienced enough to handle the pressure? Capello is - he has shown that with his tenure at Real Madrid where week in, week out, everybody was keen to criticise his tactics and desicions. He dropped Ronaldo because of his weight, dropped David Beckham for his laziness and introducing younger players into the side like Miguel Torres and Higuain.

Mourinho succumbed to pressure from Roman Abramovich, and was infamously asked to resign after the 1-1 draw against Rosenborg. We don't need a beautiful tactician. We need a MAN who can whip our men into shape and teach them how to win.
