It's a sad day when a scottish signing is seen as being more significant than that of the great denis berkgamp, cantona or Ian rush.

it has to be C.Ronaldo by a mile look at the way Man U really depend on him without him or Rooney they are not creative enough or an attacking threat

It should be stressed that the ten with the most votes came directly from the votes cast by our readers, so anyone missed off the list, and there could be hundreds, were simply not chosen by the fans
It's a sad day when a scottish signing is seen as being more significant than that of the great denis berkgamp, cantona or Ian rush.
Considering how much Larsson cost Celtic, in comparison to the players you mentioned, any straight thinking football would have Larsson in their side before Bergkamp, Rush or Cantona. Larsson has prospered at every club he has played for, and might i mention that he came off the bench to set up both goals for Barcelona's champions league victory over Arsenal not so long ago? I could go on.... but the bottom line is, Larsson is the greatest buy in football.

Cantona was a genius.

Henrik Larsson? didn't know non-league was being counted. In that case Steve Portway for Gravesend. Record non-league goal scorer with 58 and 62 goals in successive seasons, cost f*** all.
by Damo on December 18, 2007
To the "You what?" and "What about...?" brigade: Why are you all on here complaining now? You had your chance to vote, and the overwhelming majority of those who voted named Henrik Larsson as the best ever signing. It was an entirely democratic, open to all vote, fair and square. Congratulations to Henrik on yet another personal achievement, and to Denis and Eric on their 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Three true greats.

jesus chill. Its bleedin obivous it has to be larrson - if it really was 650k - then thats the end of it. Now- I'd have swung for anelka cos he was bought for 3 and sold for 24m - so that makes it the best buy - and even the best sell - but as far as I know, larrson has scored something like 50 european goals - and apparently is still scoring them for helsinbourg in the uefa. Man utd went on a 10 game winning streak when he arrived and they won the league, he scored 11 goals out of 12 games in his last W/C qualifying campaign, and then scored 3 goals in 3 games and apparently ronaldihno called larrson his inspiration. Just chill and accept it. And Henry said that Larsson singlehandedly won the Cl for Barca - man, you're blind or stupid - what I'd give to have him at my club

What's Gerrard eone this year (apart from be owned by Anderson and Anfield)? The poll is on present form, not previous years' achievements...

Im a spurs fan but can admit the goons have made some of the best signings. 500,000 for Anelka - sold for over 20 Mil. Also Fabregas for under a million and Viera for just 2.5 Mil. Two of the best signings.
by Micky Finn on December 18, 2007
There is only one winner - Henrik Larsson - King of Kings!

Why do fans of Everton have to tell you what we think? Why would we care about any of those players? David Weir is the best signing in living memory, bought for a fraction of what these players cost.
by BhoyWunda on December 18, 2007
Larsson cost £650k and scored over 200 goals in 7 years avergaing 25 - 30 a season. His goals won Celtic Championships. His iconic status generated millions for Celtic so over all a great piece of business. Barca got him for nothing and he inspired them to CL Final glory.
by Carlos on December 18, 2007
the likes of Crstiano Ronaldo dont count in this as the world knows the premiership teams buy their way to success just like ManU with ronaldo, anderson, nani, rooney and whoever else they bought. Larsson was a bargain and 1 of the best players in the world!!
Why do fans of Everton have to tell you what we think? Why would we care about any of those players? HE'S BACK WHERE HE BELONGS AT CASTLE GREYSKULL

Not on your list- but at £50,000 and 793 appearances later Billy Bonds must be one of the best bits of business ever.
you appear to have missed the irony my litte jock mate, oh never mind. And p.s. I live in the South, we don't need to do the lottery
