Still wiping the laughter tears away as I write this, after reading the Daily Mail article on Sol Campbell's proposed return to Tottenham!

I wonder if the chap who wrote the article suffered a blow to the head, or smokes extremely large and fragrant cigarettes or is just a complete fool? Campbell wearing the white shirt once more, six years after his lying about signing a new contract with us, and then having the affrontery to sign for Arsenal of  all the teams he could have chosen?

This after feathering his own nest and depriving the club of £15m to £18m. This after appearing on an advert for PizzaHut with Arsenal's Tony Adams just before the 2001 FA Cup semi-final and getting paid for saying how wonderful and honoured he was to be captain of the Lilywhites, and how much it meant to Spurs fans to put one over their local rivals.

'I know there are fans who want success at any price, but would the return of this dishonourable and despicable character be acceptable to you as a Spurs fan?'

Then, in the space of three months, deserting the club in the most cowardly and underhand way under the cover  of the close season, and putting pen to paper with the Gunners. Now here's the really funny bit. He says he didn't know what all the fuss was about!.

I personally wouldn't watch any Spurs match in which he played, and that's saying something after some of the real donkeys I've seen since I started supporting Tottenham. But I have never booed or shouted abuse at any player before, and I don't aim to start now, so it would be better if I didn't attend.

I know there are fans who want success at any price, but would the return of this dishonourable and despicable character be acceptable to you as a Spurs fan?

I'm hoping that The Mail, as usual, are in fantasy world. I'm hoping that someone put a mind-bending substance in the hack's Christmas pud, but what if? He would be a useful addition to our team, of that there's no doubt, but would you accept him back? Could you? I couldn't!
