By about a million miles. Hence him winning all of the player of the year awards. Though expect a load of berks voting for Fabregas.

When the ball hits the net like a French exocet, that's Elano!
by Bluebeer on January 08, 2008
Wheres elano or Petrov in this so called 'best players' list. If torres is included then surely elano must be!
by mrk on January 08, 2008
how can Fernando Torres be included in this list, he's only been in the prem 5 mins. As much as I hate to say it - gotta be the diving scum Ronaldo
by gd on January 08, 2008
both been amazing all year round, if premiership based the would have swept the awards in, along with ronaldo maybe
When the ball hits the net like a French exocet, that's Elano!
Elano - WTF have you been groping????

RONALDO without a doubt.

..Ronaldo. The cheat.
by PM on January 08, 2008
Petrov and elano? they have only been in the prem for five minutes aswell! Arteta has been easily evertons best player of 2007 and has got to be up there with ronaldo, fabregas n richards as named

33 goals without taking any penalties, and very few free kicks. And without a decent strike partner, despite his fancy name (Shevchenko)

1. Ronaldo 2. Drogba 3. Berbatov ... I assume we are just talking Premiership here? Also Fabregas? Best player of 2007 I think not... he's had a great start to this season but thats only a quarter of the year 2007. A lot of players played better than him throughout the first half of the year. Its only now he's really starting to shine (very brightly I might add!)

Can we have one comment section without the usual anti-player/anti-club crap comment 2. Especially since this is EPL specific. Grow up you tool.. As for the question, I assume it's for the first half of the 2007/2008 season and not the end of 2006/2007 season??? If it's 2006/2007, then it's hard to argue with those who voted for the awards since the are players and people with far more knowledge about the game than any of us.. Hence, Ronaldo would get the nod even though he is not the most popular person with a lot of fans.. For the first half of the 2007/2008 season it's a hard call.. Torres has been exceptional, when he has played! Ronaldo has more goals this year than he did at the same time last year. Fabregas has been outstanding. I think Tevez has done very well too. They would be my shortlist.

Clearly Fabregas
by Christovski. on January 08, 2008
Ronaldo without a doubt. Fabregas has been very very good this season, but that's not the whole year.

Most profilific striker in 2007 not on the list in robbie keane?
by gary stevens on January 08, 2008
Without the awe inspiring displays from Janus, spurs wouldnt be the team they are
by MBE on January 08, 2008
I would have expected the player with the most goals in the EPL in the year to have made the shortlist? Not the best player , but surely on the list. Yes, for those unsure it was Robbie Keane
by paulwill on January 08, 2008
Keane is the man.
Without the awe inspiring displays from Janus, spurs wouldnt be the team they are
is this sarcasm? (and its Jenas)
by god on January 08, 2008
Every day of the week.
Would rather have Samantha Janus in my midfield that Jenas...and I am a spurs fan! He is distinctly average in all aspects of his game
Total sarcasm, spurs will never achieve anything with Jenas in the team
