We know what you are all thinking - “a slow day in the Sportingo offices”. Well, you would be wrong! In the interest of science, and to settle a pub argument, we are trying to assemble the greatest ever Slapheads XI. So come on, join in the debate, you know you want to!

Is it an illusion, or are there not so many players out there these days with follicle deficiencies? The two everyone notices are Everton pair Thomas Gravesen and Lee Carsley - and Charlton's Danny Mills has become part of English football's shiny-topped furniture this past decade or so.

In the past we had the likes of Manchester United's Sir Bobby Charlton (we will accept comb-overs) and Nobby Stiles, the fantastic Frank LeBoeuf at Chelsea and of course Crystal Palace's Attilo Lombardo. And Sportingo's senior staff members even point to names from the '50s like Arsenal's Wally Barnes and Jimmy Scoular of Newcastle United.

'Is it an illusion, or are there not so many players out there these days with follicle deficiencies?'

In the interest of making this as scientifically accurate as possible, we would ask that you only select players who have actually LOST their hair - not people who have simply shaved it off for effect! True, there are those who fit in both camps but we feel certain you'll come to the correct decision.

Post your selection below and debate the issue with other slaphead-loving fans!
