I heard about that Dimitrov rumour, i hope it's not true, i thought we had him sewn up!
by Blend on January 14, 2008
Seriosly, £27m, where do you get such ridiculous figures, it jus completrly invalidates the whole article. Talk about sensationalism
by Ogali on January 14, 2008
For the first time in a long while, Chelsea is showing strong interest in a young player....a palyer for the future. I'M THRILLED.
by rick on January 14, 2008
other articles quote between 12 and 18 million for this player, 27 million? obviously just trying to get somebody to read this
by bob on January 14, 2008
"For the first time in a long while, Chelsea is showing strong interest in a young player....a palyer for the future." - Think you'll find that Chelsea have invested heavily in youth over the past couple of years...we have some of the best 15-18 year olds in the country.
by GoonerBoy on January 14, 2008
"Think you'll find that Chelsea have invested heavily in youth over the past couple of years...we have some of the best 15-18 year olds in the country.
Not as good as Arsenal's youngsters mate. Youngsters at chelsea dont get the chance to play, not even in carling cup.
by Nutcracker on January 14, 2008
GoonerBoy your second string are going to get hammered next week. COYS. And as for Chelsea...do you have an academy?!?!?!?
yeh i forgot about all those spurs kids coming through the ranks.
by Unbiased Blue on January 14, 2008
Chelsea have more players representing England at all levels U-19 up to full England team and one of the best state of the art youth academies in the world! Imagine if we actually showed an interest in young players. Another biased article from ArseLingo!
I don't think that we should mention Chelsea and academy in the same sentence, it's a contradiction of terms!!! Perhaps if you would stop buying more players we might see some of these so called superstars. Truth is that they all end up playing for lower league clubs after you have destroyed their confidence!!! MUGS

can't see Liverpool being the race for Huntelaar tbh...wish they would but I think you got this one WRONG!!!!
by Spurforever!¬ on January 14, 2008
It doesn't matter anyway,Chelsea keep on winning whoever they have in their team.If they can afford to do it as they can,why not?..
by EL_NINO on January 14, 2008
i cant see liverpool buying altho we wud need it with the form our strikers (apart from torres) are in.. rafa may be interested but the yanks r broke an wer jus waitin for the arabs to step in lol
by DavidRFC on January 14, 2008
Huntelaar is a quality player but dont think hes worth 27mill. Man U dont need him and it would be a waste of money but Liverpool and Man City should defo consider him. I also here Rangers are close to signing Simpson from Man U wouldnt mind a exchange for Hutton and 9Mill.
by Karim on January 14, 2008
ive been saying that we need a striker to partner torres however didnt Dirk Kuyt have a similar goalscoring record to that off Huntelaar? i know ruud v N made the transition and scored loads of goals so maybe the transition can be made with this new young dutch superstar. Preferably id like someone with more experience, around the late 20s, early 30s, or Owen back. But if not Owen, then just a goal poacher, Viduka, ROnaldo (ac milan) would fit the bill. as for 20s striker, jones off sunderland looks a handful, as does Doyle from reading, but whether theyd make the grade at a top club is another matter. What about Schevchenko? his ratio is 21 goals in 68 games - better than any striker we have besides torres. Plus he a self confessed liverpool fan

here lads im a celtic support so i dont support arsenal tottenham and chelsea and from a neatrals view,,2 sort out yer lil fite,, arsenal have da best youngsters in the world hands down ,,im amazed everytime i get the chance 2 watch themm,,how does wenger do it
by FredPSV on January 14, 2008
His name is Piet de Visser. Google him, he's Roman's personal scout and is the best scout in the history of the game. So all this about Chelsea having no good youngsters is silly.
by g-unit67890 on January 15, 2008

Even if the level of opposition in Holland is low, so are the teammates. I think he'll be able to step up the level once he is in the company of more talented teammates, like many of other top strikers who have come out of Holland - van Basten, van Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink, of Hasselink, Bergkamp, Overmas, this great chap who used to play for Forest, van Persie and to a lesser extent Kuyt. So he certainly deserves a chance.

Huntelaar is a top player. I heard last summer that he would be a united player in 12 months time. I wud be very surprised if he left in January tho as he is cup-tied. He wud be perfect for any team in the prem who need an out and out goalscorer, I've watched him quite a bit and IMO he is as good as RVN. I think he will go 2 united in the summer and score for fun
by freters on January 15, 2008
If Chelsea put faith in there Youth and not in there Wallet, I doubt they would be in the premiership top 4!

The story about Nikolay Dimitrov is NOT true! Levski's manager came out and spoke on the issue and stated that he knew Avram Grant from his time in Israel and were talking about an Israeli player. The media twisted the reports because they saw the two men talking, but Nikolay Dimitrov is still most likely headed to Arsenal.
by UNITED FAN on January 15, 2008
APPARENTLY UNITED SPOKE TO HUNTELAAR IN THE SUMMER ABOUT HIM JOINING THE CLUB IN EXCHANGE FOR SAHA, HOWEVER SAHA PICKED UP AN INJURY (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!) AND THE DEAL FELL THROUGH.
by obi on January 15, 2008
The difference between Kuyt and Huntelaar: One is a great finisher, with pace and a willingness to shoulder the responsibility of getting into the box and scoring goals. The other is a lump of wood! I'll let you guess which one is which!
Give the guy a break! He's just giving a round up of the transfer rumours and to be fair, does let you know how realistic he thinks these rumours are.
by Danrod on January 16, 2008
Huntelaar would be an exellent signing for pool. Torres an Hunt would probably be one of the worlds greatest pair of strikers!!! Sell Kuyt, sissoko and Crouch to afford him!!!
by deboy on January 16, 2008
Lets face it huntelaar isnt worth that and liverpool cant afford him ask mascherano if they were to spend up i would look at robinho or silva they can play wide and are good finishers class acts.
by Bob on January 18, 2008
Any young player like Di Santos, going to chelsea rather than arsenal, is mad. You only have to see what Wenger does with young players, has he said once:" I dont buy start I make them", quite true, besides any young player only gets better with Wenger. Going to Chelsea what any young player going to learn with Avram Grant. Bpoth managers are like cheese and choke.
