Manchester United Live Online
Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Premier League this season, yet he has failed to win the love of everyone. His skill and talent is unquestionable - but why is he not loved?
The reason the Manchester United superstar is hated by fans of other clubs is his arrogance and sleazy behaviour off the pitch. What sort of self-respecting figure spends his time with prostitutes?
Thierry Henry may have been arrogant, but he was loved by everyone. Kaka is humble and plays with such electricity that you simply watch in awe at this magician at work. Lionel Messi may be small and prone to the odd dive - but when he is on song, nothing can stop him.
Should Ronaldo be included in this select elite? Possibly, but the one difference between Ronaldo and Henry, Kaka and Messi is his private life, with his name constantly being dragged through the mud by eager tabloids.
To be a top footballer, you have to class both on and off the pitch - and Cristiano lacks it off the pitch. While Kaka, the world's best player, has it in abundance, Ronaldo is scampering around for his boxer shorts and a cheque.
This is why Ronaldo is not loved by other fans and why he will always be remembered as one of those players who needed to clean up his act. Then he might have had the same impact on the footballing world as a Kaka, Henry or Messi.
