It’s almost final now. The Daily Telegraph reports that Liverpool hard man Mohamed Sissoko is on his way to Juventus this week. They quote the 22-year old Mali international as saying: “It’s a matter of a few days – three days, a maximum of four – and then everything will be decided. I know there has been some movement but we have to wait.”

So all is settled now and there are no tears, except maybe those of Valencia manager Ronald Koeman who was keen on bringing the anchoring medio back to Valencia. Sissoko has been sulking on the Liverpool bench for much of the season and he is certainly all joy after almost securing his move to Juve.

Oh, but do read this quote – “I confess that wearing the Juventus shirt would be the maximum for me. I have been a Juve fan since I was a child because when I was young I was fixated with Zidane. Then, having followed this team, I have become a fan of Del Piero, a great player.”

Now, isn’t this something that most, if not all footballers, remark about the club that they move to?
