Jens Lehmann appears to be a fish out of water. Last week the 38-year-old German international declined a loan deal with Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and was dreaming of moving to mighty Bayern Munich in the summer.

But Football365 reports that Bayern have no plans to sign Lehmann and will turn to 23-year old Michael Rensing when Oliver Khan hangs up his gloves at the end of the season.

General manager Uli Hoeness says: “We have promised Michael over and over again that he would be our first choice when Oliver Kahn retires. It would be relatively senseless to replace one 38-year-old with another – besides, Lehmann is not the sort of player to sit on the bench waiting for Michael to get ill or injured.”

Dream over, Mr. Lehmann. The German custodian is almost guaranteed not to be given many games by Arsenal at the Emirates for the rest of the season and he must be fuming now that he has to search for a club in the summer. And without the games, will Germany risk making him No.1 for Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
