I am a Gooner who is starting to tire of the tabloids' crazy rumours. Yes, it would be nice to have Samuel Eto'o at the Emirates but I doubt that Arsenal will buy anyone in this transfer window. But there are some targets for the summer. Here is my list of probables, possibles and no-chances:

Emile Mputu: Probably the most likely target. Not going to be signed this month because of the Africa Cup of Nations, but could come in the summer. He fits the bill for Arsene Wenger, young, and will cost next to nothing.

Samir Nasri, Hatem Ben Arfa, Karim Benzema: Almost no chance, but if Wenger was to make a big signing, it would probably be one of these three. They would all cost too much for Wenger, considering not one of them is really needed. Ben Arfa and Benzema are both forwards, where we are well set unless Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie or Eduardo leave. Nicklas Bendnter will probably go, but we also have Theo Walcott. Nasri would seem the likeliest of these three, but we don't really need a central midfielder as we have Mathieu Flamini and Cesc Fabregas. If Flamini were to leave, however . . .

'If Wenger were to spend it on anyone, who better than the best player in the world, who just happens to play in Arsenal's weak position, a true winger'

Kaka: Sounds crazy, but more likely than a lot of other names that are floating around. He says it is his dream to play in the Premier League for either Arsenal or Manchester United. If there was ever a good time, it would be now. AC Milan are struggling domestically this season and there is a good chance that they will not qualify for the Champions League. With record profits, Wenger has been promised a war chest of close to £100m. If he were to spend it on anyone, who better than the best player in the world, who just happens to play in Arsenal's weak position, a true winger? I rate this move at around one per cent.

Now for the Emirates' departures timetable:

Nicklas Bendtner: The rumours have died down, but if he does not get more games, he might leave for greener pastures.

Jens Lehmann: I don't want to talk about him. I don't care if no-one wants him so long as he goes.

Gilberto Silva: Arsenal cannot keep him if they are not prepared to play him and he has been strongly linked to Juventus.

Justin Hoyte: Quality full-back who may have a future with the England team, but who will never be able to overtake Bacary Sagna or Gael Clichy for regular playing time.

Eduardo: Crazy as it sounds, the striker has had a run and has impressed. But once Van Persie comes back it will be back to the bench for the rest of the season. Now that he has shown his quality, maybe another big club (Liverpool?) might be tempted.
