Villa and Berbatov could be a dream ticket
by Eamonn on February 10, 2008
Hey Frank, what about Robbie Keane? Villa will only be signed(thats assuming we could tempt him) as a replacement for Berbatov not as a strike partner, not least because we dont need a strike partner for him. Robbie scored his 19th goal of the season yesterday, he was also the Premierships top goal scorer in 2007 with 19goals, having plundered 31 in all competitions in the same period. Berba and Keane are a great partnership, Villa and Keane would also work, but you'll not see Berba and Villa at the Lane next season, one of em would be on the bench!!!!

So according to Eamonn, we are going to sign a midgtet to replace Berbatov??? look at Sevilla they play with two big strikers (more like Berba & Bent) there is no way Snr Ramos would play Keane and Villa together.
by Mike Austin on February 10, 2008
Villa will join Chelsea to replace Drogba. Why would Capel cost a lot? his contract runs out in 2009. I could see this mybe coming off in the summer at about £6m. I would also like Poulsen who also has a contract until 2009. As for a keeper, i thought we were supposed to be signing Almeria? Unless we will sign Samir Handanovic as a number 2 and one for the future at only 23.

We can't compete with Chelsea in the transfer market and either on the field while we lack Champions league football. I watched the sevilla/barca game last night and Capel looks fast and has ability, they played him on the left so I think he would an excellent but, the other player I liked was Giovanni Dos Santos who looks to have everything, class player. I doubt we could prise him from barca though.
by dansta on February 10, 2008
Berbatov and David Villa would be the ultimate striking pairs and could be deadly but i can definetley see him joining chelsea to replace drogba and he won't join spurs. the only reason he mogt consider it is because he likes ramos and said he would love to work with him one day. this was said when he was at sevilla. but honestly he will be a chelsea player next season.

We´ll be lucky to have one of Berbatov/Villa playing 4 us next season so stop dreaming and get back 2 reality. I was watching Capel last night, would be a great signing, again, probobly just a dream. We need to get in 2 CL 2 get the big names signing 4 us.

Yes yes keane's record as far as goals is good, however the chances he misses a lot, of which many are sitters and this will not be tolerated by ramos. Sure he is spurs through and through and works ever so hard, however we finally have a boss that expects nothing but the best. Keane on numerous occassions over the years has missed so many glorious chances that most good strikers would bury, especially in big games, he seems to bottle it. I love it finally a manager that does what is best for the team and not individuals, not good enough your out. Long reign the ramos and his revolution to the team that has broken my heart for so many years.

Why is ramos seemingly so reluctant to give paul robinson another run in the side, ok he has made a few blunders this season but that was when he had kabol the clown playing infront of his.. now that we have more of a settle back four with woodgate and hutton then im sure robbo would shine again like he has done for the past three seasons.
by Martin The Viking on February 10, 2008
Totally agree about Robbo. Give him another chance..was once class for us. You just don't become s*** over night. If we are supposed to change a first choice keeper, i would like us to go for a english keeper. Why not push Alnwick or Button for the number one spot. Look at Hart at City..got his chance and grabbed it! Villa and Capel would be class signings! I also watched the Sevilla- Barca game yesterday, and Capel would be the perfect leftwinger for us, kinda Lennon like. But i've heard good things of some leftwingers in our academy also..Rose and Townsend..
by Wayne on February 10, 2008
Yeah totally agree with Giving Robbo another go. He cannot become a crap keeper over nite and not forgetting when we were pipped to 4th place by the filth he was our best player. I feel sorry for thr guy and would give him a chance with now a better back four infront of him.
by Spurstotty on February 10, 2008
I know Tottenham are one of the richest clubs in the World, but even I am flabbergasted at the crap these 2bob sites make up 2007 Summer spending 30m 2008 Winter spending 20m 2008 Summer spending 50m !! OK rofl NOTW and star says it all.

He has been unbelievable for us..you want drastic change to bring in overrated superstars. Look past games like "Fifa" and "Pro Evo" and step into reality. Keane scored against Man U, Arsenal, yet he misses tap ins? Most of his goals are tap ins becasue he is AN OUT AND OUT STRIKER, let alon

We've got no hope of getting the likes of Villa, not unless we can get Berba to stay put and that won't happen unless we win the CC and that's unlikely, much as I hate to admit it........

maybe im going to get s*** for writing this but asa spurs fan for ova 25yrs i feel im entitled to my view.i would not care at all if spurs were to sell berbatov.yes he brings moments of quality but he is so lazy and goes missing when things get bad.he gives no effort at all.he walks around the pitch and if the ball is not delivered to his feet he waves his arms in the air!it really frustrates me as ramos has the rest of the team working their socks off,so how come berbatov gets away with doing next to nothing?now with the sale of defoe,if keano or berbs get a knock we are seriously lightweight up front.bent is a joke, totally out of his depth.he should of gone, not defoe.villa would be a good signing but without CL football i doubt he would come to the lane.also im gutted that spurs didnt bust the bank to sign diarra, who looks a quality player and who wouldve fitted in very nice into our midfield.good times ahead though i think as long as a few more additions are added in the summer
by davio on February 10, 2008
I hope they are all English players because Spurs fans won't accept anything less! They condem Arsenal for having foreign players!
by Peter on February 11, 2008
Robbo didn't become crap over nite though did he? He's gradually got worse for the past 2 years making numerous high profile errors and even before that he was still dodgy on long shots. I trust Ramos judgement and if he thinks we need a new keeper then odds are we need a new keeper. COYS patiently waiting for the 24th when we do chelscum
by Uncle Whollop on February 11, 2008
Now i see lie always the never ending amount of transfer frenzied gossip going about and i dont care... Nope.. not a s***e!!! Know why!!! Coz we have a Manager who knows how to WIN... This has rubbed off on all the players attitudes and personal play... Ramos... More power to him.. Robbo made plenty of mistakes and SOME was to do with a never ending change to his defence.. But lots where just down to his own errors.. No one is bigger than THFC... Lets see a side full of players wanting to play for the MIGHTY SPURS AGAIN... COYS!!!
by J on February 11, 2008
One thing never talked about is Robbo's distribution. Definitely the best in the league. Think about how many goals came from his quick thinking and accurate kick, esp out to Lennon or Berba. This is really lacking without him. I hope he can sort out his nerves and get back to his best. At his best he is an asset to Spurs. And we will beat Chelscum at Wembley!!
by shauno on February 11, 2008
micheal dawson<robbo? all s*** players how can we compete with europes fines by buying players from forrest and leeds?ramos signings hutton and woody have been solid? thats what we need.dawson single handedly lost the fa cup game for us. at fault for all three goals.
by edwhite on February 11, 2008
In the summer, I would think there will be a lot of players coming and going, as Ramos picks his own squad. I would like to see Amelia and Hennessy come as replacement gks. Jarque to central defence. As Gilberto seems to be a stopgap, it would be nice if Drenthe competed with Bale for LB. Just wishful thinking but it would be nice if Bentley, Carrick, Albelda, Guardado, N'Zogbia, Villa and Kanoute could be added to the squad. OUT:- Robinson, Cerny, Staltieri, Gardner, Rocha, Lee, Assou-Ekotto, Ghaly, Tainio, Bent, Zokora.
