Why do you say that? He isn't claiming these rumours are in any way believable, simply reporting them and yes i agree with him, these are truly stupid rumours, mind you i have seen them also
by Frank on February 10, 2008
We should have taken Babel, quite why he chose Liverpool escapes me! They are awful!
by 123 on February 10, 2008
if none of the transfers are ever going to happen, why do you even bother publishing? week 1: man utd want to buy fabregas week 2: chelsea want to buy ronaldo week 3: liverpool want to buy kaka week 4: arsenal want to buy ronaldinho please stop wasting everybody's time.

I think he makes a good point, by your rationale the BBC shouldn't print the rumours in its website, but it does every bloody week! At least here we can discuss the rumours, and to be fair the guy here points out how rubbish most of them are, which is more than can be said for other sites!

rubbish site with rubbish stories
by Sean on February 10, 2008
Great site with great stories. Please remember this is a fan driven site, so i would imagine if you don't like what you see you can write your own agenda, i do! Also to all those jealous Arsenal fans we got Babel and you didn't!
by lennie g on February 10, 2008
I just can't believe that people can be so gullible, do you honestly believe that 'The Prof.' would lower his self to attract Babel and Nani to the Mecca. From what I've seen they wouldn't even get into our reserves. Now get this one I have it on good authority from Keegan no less that 'The Prof.'is more interested on a swoop for Savage and Butt, now I wonder how many are gonna believe that.

Even i wouldn't stoop that low!

Obviously Arsene decided Babel wasn't good enough at least at that moment. He is a declared Arsenal fan and said that was where his future lay. He must be a very disappointed young man.

by ML on February 10, 2008
LOL like the goons have got 32 million to spend.
Nigel - do you have any evidence whatsoever that Babel would not rather be at Arsenal? On the evidence of his performance against Chelsea this afternoon he just doesn't have the basic skills, hangs on to the ball too long and lacks composure, so it would only be a pipedream for him now..
by spokes on February 10, 2008
Oh dear Ecactly how precious are these scousers? Babel said HIMSELF that he wasnt ready for ArsenaL for at least a season, a £6 million fee was agreed, the LPool offered £12 million and off he went. And I am sure babel os just sooooo glad of the coice isnt he? The fact that he cant get a team for the mid tablt strugglers shows that Wenger was correct in not signing nhim! As for Gooners being so arrogant? I dont see where thats come from, as far as arrogant fans goes, its a closed shop; United, Chavs and Scousers. I mean, you couldnt move for big mouthed scousers telling us all that this was their year (just like the spuds!) Yep, its really their year isnt it? I am just happy that my team are proving all the pundits wrong and making a challenge for the 1st time in a few years. Or am I being arrogant? As for the criticism of thye article, the guy is just regurgitating media spec.
I was not awere that Arsenal had bid for babel, when did that happen?
by 32 Mill on February 10, 2008
does Wenger need 32 mill to spend when he can sign players on the cheap and turn them into world class players? I'm sure Babel is really happy he signed for Liverpool, 5th in the league and living amongst the bin dippers.
by Arsenal,Kansas on February 10, 2008
Excuse me, We didn`t get Babel because arsen Wenger did not want him at that time, because he thinks we have enough players who can cover that position. Arsenal...simply the best!
by davio on February 10, 2008
The top four clubs do not exchange players, Gabriel Heinze(is that right) but who are the top four clubs? Wages too high??? New manager??? Ambitious player who wants to play for his country??? Needs Champions league football??
by rowan on February 10, 2008
This site is toilet. I have not read one good article on here, its like the sunday people every day! what next, a new league is to start in space and an alien benefactor will buy every good player in the world. Why even talk about these rubbish rumours if you know they are toilet. write something interesting.
by Nick on February 10, 2008
where was u in the summer when there were countless interviews with babel where he was pretty much begging wenger to make a bid for him, he did not choose liverpool over arsenal, liverpool were the only ones that made an offer. i cannot understand how u are so idiotic and still talk so much s*** even in the position u are in
by lfc4ever on February 11, 2008
Please to jezus - can Sportingo not come up with one decent story. Its crap crap crap all the way. Every time I try & find faith in one of Sportingo's articles - it just turns out to be more CRAP. "Dont shoot the messaenger" ok - we wont. Will you promise NOT to write anymore crappy stories?
by yannick on February 11, 2008
how many league titles do u have???? HOw many champions league??? Fa cups??? Carling cup??? european super cup?intercontinental cup??So shut up and create ur story coz for our part its already done u gooner fans and u dont even have a proper identity with ur stadium using the name of ur sponser!!!! N for babel take him!! take gerrard, mascherano, alonso, and take torres too. Maybe then ull be able to catch us and create ur history. Probably by then ill be an old man and maybe already dead and burried! We gave united almost 18 yrs but still they havent reach us! And for Champions league wevw got 5 and the real cup!! For champions league, bout arsenal dont even want to talk about it!!! u loosers!!!!
by deboy on February 11, 2008
you comment on babels place ahead of kewell sure injuries have hurt his career but he has in the past been an excellent player much better than some u havent named like voronin crouch and kuyt who fill spots babel could be playing in.
by J on February 11, 2008
yannick - Your fifth and you know you are!!!! Shut up its all about here and now stop with your bs straight from the history books coz your are effing crap this season, Dont be jealous of a stadium which can hold more than five we'll just wait and see what youre new waste of time is gonna be called, if it ever gets built, stop being so lemon!!!! Babel who cares he saw Hicks' weak dollar and took the bumper paycheck leave him to rot in the cop.
by jjb on February 11, 2008
have arsenal won the league already? by the sounds of it on here they have but the fact is Liverpool and man utd have won alot more trophies than arsenal in the last few years!
by simo on February 11, 2008
sir alex run the rule over this lad babel and thought he's not good enough for united so the rest of you can feed on scraps we got Nani we gotAnderson
by magnumopus on February 11, 2008
Ok kids now it's time to cut the crap. Babel is young and both teams wanted him because he has lots of potential, enough said. Circumstances lead him to be at Liverpool. He is being eased into the squad. Liverpool is having a disappointing season but have proved through the years to always be among the best in the league. In fact, they were ahead of Arsenal for the last 2 years. Aresenal has played good footy and lost a tough final in the Champions League as Liverpool also did last year. Why fans act like children I will never understand except that they must be, I guess? About the article itself... those deals will never be made and we all know that.
by badcock on February 11, 2008
are top the league, said we are top the league.
by pudz on February 11, 2008
talks utter s***, we dont want or need either
by bootus on February 11, 2008
You can only laugh at Sportingo - pure 100% BS. Can I join Sportingo - I can make up rumours also like this one: "Liverpool after £400 million Manchester United Squad - Today on the rumour network it was reported that Rafa Benitez made firm offers for Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and the rest of the United squad. We can confirm from credible sources that the deal will go through next week even though the transfer window has just closed". Is that good enough? Sounds more plausible that EVERY stroy Sportingo have ever published.
by Simmo on February 11, 2008
i'm a gooner and so far this season i think we've shocked everyone in the country, except for wenger, if players were to choose clubs on their history in the champions league then babel could've signed for derby, villa or forest, they've all gone further than arsenal. does that make them a better team? he chose liverpool cos he THOUGHT you were going in the right direction. looking at it, he would've been better off at everton or villa!
by tim on February 11, 2008
let’s face it, this is probably just mindless speculation. please shut this website down.
by Football fan on February 11, 2008
Wenger is not dumb like fergie, why would he want nani or babel, they got better players like hleb and rosicky. Nani is just an athlete with no technical ability !!!
by Edmund Simpson on February 11, 2008
children-children: The reason this site is often so infantile is because I suspect most of the contributors are themselves children or at least prepubescent - if not in years, then in behaviour. Check the spelling, grammar and inarticulateness of youngsters like Yannick (and bemoan the morons our education system is producing). Unfortunately there are only very few sites which rise above the schoolyard "mine's bigger than yours" level - probably because most 9-13 year-olds now have computers. As a Gooner I've always had a lot of respect for Liverpool - which won't be affected by the knuckle-headed musings of the dimwits supporting both teams.
by Karim on February 11, 2008
Im not sure why Babel chose us ahead of Arsenal either and im a Liverpool fan. I was watching yesterdays game and i agree with Capellos assistant - we pas the ball aimlessly, then goes back to the back four to lump it forward instead of working the gaps. It happened so many times yesterday on both teams.
by Ed on February 11, 2008
To all Liverpool fans..........................Thomas charging throught the midfield, Thomas, ITS UP FOR GRABS NOW.......................Thomas, right at the end, an unbelievable climax to the league season. Aldridge is down, Barnes is down, Dalglish just stands there, suddenly it was Michael Thomas bursting through...............
by davio on February 11, 2008
Why wasn't Arsenal allowed to enter the European Cup in 1990 and again in 1992 you have to enter to win it..... The Premiership is what all Liverpool supporters would like to win.... The last 2 cups mentioned are just friendlies like the charity shield really.

Nani Nani Noo Noo
by Finsbury Parker on February 12, 2008
This is fantastic news. If we can replace a couple of our obviously inferior players with superior players from our rivals, maybe we can move up the table a bit! Oh hang on...
by Fletch on February 12, 2008
This site is fast becoming a joke. We already have decent news sources, we don't need rubbish like this. If you're going to have a fan site with articles from people who have no sources or newsgathering ability then write features and opinion pieces instead. This is just a waste of time.
by KC on February 12, 2008
ya stoopid ARSEnal fanz babel choose liverpool, but at the tym i dnt fink he knew tht arsenal are much better then liverpool wiv dere erm hw many izit ... ohh ye dats ryt 0 championz league winz ohh welll stoopid gooner barsketz
by oh man on April 28, 2009
i recon that arsenal should sign nani if anyone but the truth is unless arsenal sell a midfielder they shouldnt buy any midfielders they got good midfielders defenders i ronc atleast 2-3 defenders. move walcott up front he will be excellent for arsenal no doubt earlier he was too young, sell bendtner, dunno about adebayor he is good but the amount of easy shots at goal he could have got in the goal he floped!!!
by saf man on May 06, 2009
i dnt understand y arsenal signed silvestre, he was our rivals player, he probz done a favour 4 man utd team against arsenal i say arsenal should get rid of him and sign abiol, ribery etoo villa micah richards, anton ferdinand frey Mohammad Diarra, sergio ramos (dream) van persie should become a winger for arsenal he plays nang as a wide player, we need to spend if they cant afford to buy why not get a take over!!! 2-3 seasons i have supported this youth development, but now i just want arsenal to get the best of best spend and sign new bigger better players, win trophies, i no if arsenal had players like man utd arsenal would run wild wiv evry trophy in the world!!
