Drogba £25m target for Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal? I think not!

Chelsea's top goalscorer is the red-hot rumour of the day – but they'd be bonkers to let him go to their main Premier League rivals.

    Didier Drogba seems destined to leave Stamford Bridge. He was not happy when Jose Mourinho was forced out – that much is pretty clear. Teams from the continent, including Barcelona and both AC Milan and Inter, seemed the most likely destination for the Ivorian.

    However it could be that Chelsea may be pricing out these sides with their demands for a hefty fee and that has led to some muted rumours that Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool might be interested in Drogba (various).

    The 29-year-old would be a more than useful addition to any side, but it is highly unlikely that Blues would let him join another Premier League side – that would be footballing suicide. It seems more than likely he will go abroad, but can you imagine what kind of partnerships he would form at those clubs? Fernando Torres and Drogba would be a feared duo for sure. Adebayor and Drogba may be too similar to fit as a pair but maybe Sir Alex Ferguson would settle for the former Marseille man over Dimitar Berbatov as a perfect foil for Wayne Rooney.

    Either way it seems hugely unlikely that he will be banging in goals for Chelsea next season, but I guess they now have Nicolas Anelka as a ready-made replacement.

    That was indeed the point I was making but it went straight over their heads it seems. I did read it all and came to the conclusion that was it really necessary to put in print that which was fairly obvious.

    fergie will come and get Drogs at the end of the season when the money is there, just like Tevez who nobody said we could get, i am drooling thinking about Drogba , rooney and tevez in he same team, sir alex will reign supreme for many years.
