Argentinian striker Diego Milito has terrorised La Liga defenders for the past two-and-a-half years. The Real Zaragoza hitman has finished the last two seasons in the top five hotshots and has already pummelled 14 goals this term. Now Juande Ramos is said to be coming for him- though it might cost him a record £18m (The Star).

Manchester City made an approach for the former Genoa man but their bid was apparently rejected and clearly Zaragoza boss Javier Irureta doesn’t want to sell. But Milito, 28, may find it hard to refuse a move to the cash mountain that is the Premier League - and since his goals are only helping a mid-table push in Spain this term, it seems more than likely that Ramos will get his man.

The bid that is being lined up, according to these tabloid reports (try not to believe all you read, but this one could be true), would break the current Spurs transfer record, which of course resulted in the signing of Darren Bent.

Milito’s stats speak for themselves. His prodigious ability helped Genoa back into Serie A before he left for Spain, so maybe his goals could aid the north London side as they attempt to break into the top four again.
