Admittidly, Keane doesn't getmuch credit, for being a very good striker. One reason is because players Henry and Yakubu score more premiership goals than him and are better strikers and alround players! Maybe if Keane won a few trophies he would get some credit, but then again, he ain't gonna win many at Spuds!

The column headed 'Starts' Should be headed 'Appearances' as these are not the same thing. If you are including goals when he has come off the bench (which you have) then it us ungair to have a column labelled (incorrectly) as 'Starts'. It is innaccurate detail and amateurism like this that makes people think of sites like this with much less respect.

to his game than just goals, he tackles back, creates from deep and wide positions too.

Yakubu LOLOLOLLOL

londongooner, nobody scored more premiership goals than Keane in 2007, your point is flawed, i would have taken you more seriously if you had made a point about players like henry and berbatov having more flair about their play
by Yiddo on February 12, 2008
Londongooner doesn't watch football or he has a very selective definition of all round play, Yakubu's scoring record over the last 6 yrs doensn't come close 2 keanes nd guess wat? neither does his assists record. If u did actually watch any football at allu wud realise Keane is the best all round player at Tottenham there is literally no where he cant play (except maybe in goal lol) he wud even do job at CB. He is easily one of the best strikers in the prem like matthew says he tracks back tackles runs hard creates through themiddle and the wing scores tap ins an spectaculay volleys there is literally nothin he cant do, this is somethin i've bin sayin 4 a while now I wud be more dissapointed 2 see keane leave than berba (nd i love berba)

and hope the bigger teams continue to overlook him.

Keane gets overlooked firstly because he isn't English so many premiership fans don't notice or care what he does. Lets face it if he was English it would be a case of Michael WHOwen and 'Keano, Keano' would be the Wembley chant. Also Keane doesn't have a money grabbing agent linking him with clubs every transfer window so because he is happy at spurs other clubs supporters don't take notice.

to be fair you've also added goals from the cups and european competitions, but only listed his league appearences. Don't get me wrong I love Keane and think he's a detramental part of our squad more important than Dimi in terms of work rate and guile. In a way I'm glad that he doesn't get all the glory that others have had because it has simply detracted any media gossip. I'd love it if he finished his career at the mighty spurs, won some trphies and beat a few records on the way...

He is not overlooked by City fans I can tell you for damn sure. He'll cost a bomb though if anyone moves for him. If he was English he'd be first choice striker for England, no doubts. Do not understand criticism of his overall play. He's quick enough, smart, opens space, pulls defenders, never gives up, and doesn't mind a scrap. "...love Keane and think he's a detramental[sic] part of our squad more important..." Oh dear. Funniest thing I've read today.
I don't think that's what you meant Nima, and you got the spelling wrong too. Otherwise good points

The real numbers would be, I think, 234 appearances and 103 goals for Spurs - still a more than respectable scoring average of .44 goals a game.

Keane is not a great goalscorer. When he has the ball around the penalty area no-one thinks "goal" liek we did with Greaves, Fowler in his prime at Liverpool, Henry at the Arsenal and currently Torres at Liverpool. Keane chips in but most of his goals come against the lower teams like Derby, Wigan, Fulham etc. but when the chances really matter against the top teams he doesn't produce and that's what costs us points and why we need a proper finisher, not a whole-hearted tryer. Also, according to the Premier League's own stats, Keane has never scored the most goals in a season N17.

Please mate you keep writing these articles, making bold statements that basically gives other clubs supporters reason to laugh at us. I am pretty much certain now that you are not a Spurs supporter. Keane is a hard working striker that has done well for us, but lets be realistic, he isnt the best in the league and never will be.

Avergae Striker if you think wat you just spouted is correct you need help? Doesn't score against decent side do me a favour Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool all this season IDIOT
by JohnnyB on February 12, 2008
Keane is a great goal scorer...provided he doesn't have time to think about it, give him a chance he'll miss, give him half a chance he'll bury it in style. Can't fault him other than that, his link up play, off the ball he is quality....just not the best in the league!
by Seb on February 12, 2008
I think that keano is the best striker in the premiership because he score's lots and lots of brillant goals when he is on he score's a goal for spurs and we r happy to have him as a striker for spurs Theres only on keano

Where did you get these figures from? .... They are different from the internet site I am looking at I make his starts this year 37 and last year 44... 31 starts that you claim he had last year does that include UEFA cup, Premiership, FA cup and Carling cup?
