Arsenal and Liverpool battle for Barca legend

Lilian Thuram looks as if he's on the way out of the Nou Camp and rumour would have it that the 36-year-old French veteran could be heading for the Premier League.

French defender Lilian Thuram is reportedly one of those on his way out. He's out of contract in the summer, but even at the ripe old age of 36, he shows every sign of being able to continue for a year or two longer. Hence the speculation he may be planning one last hurrah in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the excellent former World Cup winner - obviously they have a past with the Arsenal boss being his mentor all those years ago when he was in the Monaco back line. Thuram could prove to be a useful addition to the Emirates squad and provide invaluable assistance to the education of the Gunners' kids.

Liverpool's Rafa Benitez could also do with a firm reliable defender in the wings and he, too, has expressed his admiration for the most capped French international ever.

Thuram is a class player despite his age and however much i would like to see him in an Arsenal shirt i think he will end his career make in France

just what did this reporter think when Arsenal are linked with a 36 year old. No way.Sometimes u gotta be smart about what u report.this is absolute horses*** and crazy.Unless he's joining Arsenal 4 all the wrong reason,maybe to clean up the dressing room,not 2 play football.

Do you believe that A.Wenger is going to come on this site and take transfer advice from you? Why does it seem that I always see idiots in the comments section giving advice to players and coaches, if not this website then generally on goal.com. Oh and I am an Arsenal fan.
