I don't think you can fault Dirk's effort, but he just isn't up to it! Time for him to go
I don't think you can fault Dirk's effort, but he just isn't up to it! Time for him to go
I think that's a correct assesment, Dirk has been a little better in recent weeks but he is playing like he knows he is on his way out.

no way do we want the smary little mug back! he left when Benitez arrived and although did brilliantly for Madrid, is far too injury prone (imagine if we didnt get rid of him in the first place - would we have won the CL? being our best striker at the time, we'd have relied too heavily on him and played route one) Kuyt clearly has a bit of class about him (hard to believe if you haven't been watching himfrom his first game at L'pool) - he just needs a few games as a main striker rather than support for Crouch or Torres. Antonio Nunez - lest we forget what a pile o sh*te he was!!

I am so sick of people harping on about Kuyt's work rate. He's a striker, his job is to score goals. If you were in any job where you did not do what you were hired for but 'tried hard' you wouldn't be long about being fired. He's not good enough and he's one of a few players at the club that are not good enough to be in a saide hoping to compete for the title. Anyway, that's Rafa's choice. I personally do not feel the Spaniard will bring us the title

Time to go i'm afraid. Don't need Owen. although if he was cheap maybe!!
by lee on February 13, 2008
let Owen live hes dream !That dream was NOT anfield.Kuyt are to heavy in hes ass..He will never be a great striker in the Premierleague. He should swoop League

I dont rate Kuyt at all and seeing how much Anelka went for only makes it worse, however you have to feel sorry for the guy as Rafa plays him everywhere except up front, what was the poor guy doing on the right side of midfield against Chelsea? lacking in goals and confidence,so you put him there !!! madness
by Omar on February 13, 2008
Kuyt's lack of goal is due to the way that Rafa lays out his team.. you only have to look at players like Babel.. after spending so much money on him, why play him on the wing? when you have players like JP,HK & YB? Rafa dont like PC coz his an out and out striker and doesnt give liverpool any other options.. i agree with Jamie Redknapp, we'll never win the league under Rafa and i am sorry to say that after supporting liverpool for 20 years for the first time i have to say that its time for him to go.

Owen better not come back to the reds, he's a waste of space, I hope he rots in the newcastle reserves!
by Terry Howells on February 14, 2008
I have always been a big fan of Owen, but there's no going back, we should keep looking forward, i think Kuyt was yet another blunder from Benitez (whom i wouldn't be sad to see go!), we should have gone for Huntelaar, he really is a world class striker in the making. We should keep Crouch as a super sub, which I'm sure he will excel at.
by Biff Elliott on February 14, 2008
Owen has had his day and won't make God like come back at Anfield. IMO when he left it forced us to change our style of play for the better. I do think Torres needs support up front and with the exception of Babbel, I don't think we have the right players to do it. PC's days are numbered due to a personality clash with Rafa and DC doesn't come up to the mark up front, so both will go in the summer. Who replaces them will depend on who is running the club then. But if we're going to do a swap deal, why not Martins?
by Dirk Kuyt and Peter Crouch on February 16, 2008
We are still happy with Liverpool and we would not leave our beloved club. Dirk Kuyt: Even though my form is bad but still there are no offers from Newcastle yet. Peter Crouch: This web is shit..
