Will Everton come up smelling of roses at Gardner's question time?
Spurs fans were delighted to see the back of Anthony Gardner, who signed a loan deal for David Moyes on deadline day. The Goodison boss has a good track record with castaways and the giant defender could well prove to be another Kevin Kilbane.

One of the quietest of the January deadline-day transfers was the loan acquisition by Everton of Spurs defender Antony Gardner.
Gardner, still recovering from a broken ankle sustained in Tottenham’s encounter with Getafe, has yet to properly train with his new surrogate club, and most of the noises coming out of White Hart Lane are of the "good riddance" variety.
So why did David Moyes sign the much-maligned Gardner, whose prime position is centre-back – one of Everton’s strongest areas with Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Joseph Yobo all vieing for contention?
The primary reason has to be back-up – with 36-year-old Alan Stubbs leaving for Derby County we looked a tad short at the back if hit by injuries, and Gardner could be a useful 'body' and adds some depth to our usually emaciated squad, especially on a low-risk loan.

i don't think Gardner will get enough of a chance to prove himelf. even without Stubbs, we still have a solid defence with neville, lescott and jagielca all versatile players. unless something goes drastically wrong and or we start shipping too many goals then i dont think we'll hardly see Gardner.

Good Article Ed, on his day ( from what I have seen) Gardner is a good player but like many other spurs players they always seem to suffer bad injuries. Maybe moyes does just see him as cover whether he gets a permanent contract is another thing and Im not sure he'll get many games either but I do trust Moyes's judgemenet he doesnt get many wrong.
