Arsenal’s former favourite son, Ashley Cole, appears to have taken offence at being left out of proceedings for the Carling Cup Final and this has led to speculation that the troubled full-back may be on his way out at Stamford Bridge (Mail on Sunday).
This has led to a cheeky debate as to whether rivals Tottenham would consider signing the Chelsea and England star. It seems that the former Gunner is Enemy No. 1 at the Emirates right now, so in theory things couldn’t get any worse in that regard.
So signing for fierce rivals Spurs could surely not make things any worse for the 27-year-old. Cole has angered many with a series of actions that have led to many considering him nothing more than a money-obsessed celebrity.
However, he is still a quality player and I think even Arsenal fans will admit that. Clearly Ashley has very little to lose in terms of popularity in the red half of north London.
I guess another sticking point to any such crazy move would be wages, with the full-back no doubt demanding in excess of 100K a week such is his grotesque need to accumulate funds so as to purchase himself a few more London pads.
Now that Spurs have disposed of Chelsea in the Wembley final yesterday, they may wish to continue their climb up the table, so surely a move for Cashley would be a step in the right direction?
While this idea is meant to be taken not too seriously, surely hangover-ridden Spurs fans in a celebratory mood will have taken note. Would they, in all honesty, totally rule out any move for the former Mr Cheryl Tweedy?

I like the idea of asking questions that no one else would dare touch, and this is a toughie. I think in footballing terms I would take him to Spurs, but because of his reputation i wouldn't touch him! Which apparently is what Cheryl Tweedy said!

You must be joking, I wouldn't want him anywhere near N17! Not because he played for A5sena1 but because he not a very good defender! Yes he likes to charge forward but he is crap at defending and as a defender it is quite an important factor!!!

This is the manufacture of your own day dreaming sunshine, there's no debate to be had. Spurs have Bale and Gilberto. Cashley is extactly that, a money grabbing tit and we'd much rather get hold of Wayne Bridge if anything.

Nuff Said .. I think they deserve each other, and it sounds like a marriage made in heaven .. well, from a gooner's point of view.

Why on Earth would Spurs want Cole. He is like Rio Ferdinand --on the way down. On Cole's part it may have something to do with his off field life, but both have peaked and have lost that edge they both had at one stage.
