Liverpool beware: Everton's takeover bid is for real
Thanks to David Moyes, the Goodison club are beginning to remember their glorious past, while Liverpool's dominance is starting to waver.

Last week Arsenal, like Liverpool, drank from the Champions League cup to forget, to obliterate the painful memories mere days before of rotten FA Cup defeats - Liverpool being beaten at home by lowly Barnsley and Arsenal being tonked by Manchester United.
For Everton, though, their European adventure is the complete opposite. They drink from the UEFA Cup to remember, like a footballing amnesiac, about where they deserve to be.
Europe is something that David Moyes and his Peoples’ Club should be aiming for every season, and because of this, collisions and near misses with the team from the other side of Stanley Park will be plentiful.
With the season fast coming to the business end, the Merseyside derby promises to be the mother of all six-pointers, and countless newspapers are projecting how many points the red and blue halves of Merseyside will amass. But looking beyond the finish line of this season, Everton have solid dependable elements in all areas of the club, not just on the field.

Pipe down m8 - Everton have been playing well for 12-15 games, and in that time Liverpool have not yet we are still level on points. You lose Yakubu, Arteta and Lescott (Liverpool lost the equivilantly important players throughout the season) and we will see how you do...

Guess what? We have been without Arteta, and due to his groin knack he's been below par even when playing. We did lose Yakubu, Pienaar, and Yobo for the African Nations, get yer facts straight "John"...

When I looked at the table - and as you wrote your misguided missive - Liverpool were 3 pts behind Everton, not level. Keep thinking that that is level and you'll be confused even further at the end of the season, sunshine. Secondly, Everton were without Arteta in seeing off two of the 4th spot rivals in the last week, and lost only 1-0 to Chelsea in the League Cup when Yakubu, Pienaar and Yobo were absent for a month. If it wasn't for the dodgy refereeing in the Mersey travesty and at Blackburn away, Everton would be out of sight of Liverpool by now. Add in the frankly unbelievable lack of penalties for clear cut offences (more than three in the past week alone!), and even the goal difference issue would be vastly superior. Look at the table and bawl your sorry red-tinted eyes out
