Liverpool’s Fernando Torres is way ahead of Arsenal and Man United aces
Ronaldo is truly brilliant and Adebayor has been a scoring sensation for the Gunners this season, but the Spanish goal-den boy tops the lot.

Fernando Torres has proved to all his doubters that he is streets ahead of the rest and has emphatically shown that he was well worth a fee many thought too high. After two hat-tricks in 10 days the Spaniard has now amassed an incredible 18 goals in 22 starts, not bad for his first season in the Premier League.
When you add into the mix that he has scored these goals for a team struggling for form as opposed to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Emmanuel Adebayor, who have scored goals for their respective teams who have been firing on all cylinders, then you can see just how great a season the former Atletico Madrid man has already had.
£26million doesn’t seem such a big deal now and it could be one of Rafa Benitez’s best bits of business. The problem in many ways is that we are becoming too dependent on the 23-year-old. Torres has carried the side in a number of games and that was no more evident than with the visit of Middlesbrough the other week when his hat-trick was all that kept Liverpool from an embarrassing defeat.
His three against West Ham inspired his team-mates on towards the end of a scrappy affair, hence the 4-0 scoreline come the final whistle.

sure, thats why he only scores against lowly placed team, and chokes when playing top oponents (and managers). but maybe he'll improve, but right now? just a pretender.

Ronaldo and Adebayor take penalties and Ronaldo is United's set piece specialist. Makes Torres' achievement even more impressive. All his goals are from open play.

lolz, have you forgotten about his goal against Chelsea and Mourinho? And while you're at it, try remembering the last time Ronaldo scored against any of the "big four"

He scored against Chelsea you mug.How many has Ronaldo scored against Lfc? Answer zero.
by Le on March 06, 2008
L'pool as always go overboard, he is good, ade has scored only 2 pens all season, torres scores against the weak opponents, but is still a very good player, just means you will not be able to hold onto to him as your league performances will never change regardless of who you have, remember owen, gerrard still carries pool, once bene gets fired Torres will be seeking a move, he would complement cesc very well along with hleb and flam.

A previous comment that Torres chokes against top sides clearly forgets to mention Ronaldos record against big teams..5th season in England and yet to score or give a notable perfromance against a fellow top 4 side..Also never put in a big performance against a big team in the CL, with last season being the 1st time he managed to score in the competion..hahhaaa....And as for his performances in the 'Kaka v Ronaldo' CL semi last year, now that was embarrassin, even united fans for once had to admit Kaka was streets ahead.. Add to that being the worst player in last years FA cup final and its clear to see uv really got ur self a big game match winner there!!!!! hahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaa....keep banging um in against wigan and Fulham Ronlado bouy cos ur out of ur depth when up against the big teams..BooooooooooooooooM

are all still beleing that Torres price was 26 mio£? I am sick and tired of this - the price was about 20 mio£, but journalists and semi-journalists apparantly like the other figure better. WHY ????

Lol its all good him scoring goals but he aint gone win you the league and when we clicks on to that he will be off oh yeah is he not there because of Rafa will when he gets the sack im sure Mr torres will be gone as well!!!. YOU SCOUSERS HEY LOL!!!!!!!

ronaldo did score agaisnt arsenal at the emirates this season. but its true 1 goal doesnt make him a big match player.
by jay on March 06, 2008
good on ur mate u speak the stats, don't get me wrong ronaldo is world class, but as u say games against top 4 sides Arsenal, chels, pool ie. clichy, cole, risse, does not get a look in, gets made to look average same as champions league matches, jury out big game player! As for Torres what a striker! world class, technically brillant (only a matter of time before the big game goals go in.) If i was Liverpool though, in the summer i would break the bank to get Berbatov from spurs £25m stick him up front with Torres. Liverpool Tasty upfront, i just think torres & berba would be the ultimate strikeforce pure class.

You are entitled to your opinion. However, when you say that ade and ronaldo finish off moves - what exactly do think torres does? They are all attacking players who score goals! Besides, the goals and all-round play of both ade and ronaldo exclude them from being merely finishers. You only need to see adebayors wonderfully athletic and intelligent display at the san siro or the ability of ronaldo to make space for himself and others to realise the poo you are spouting.

Look at ronaldos record against the likes of chelsea liverpool and arsenal and it is very poor so that is you blown out of the water
by matmos on March 06, 2008
but shame hes wasting his time at a team as poor as liverpool. ah, well maybe next year....

SHUT UP!! YOU STUPID LIVERPOOL FAN!! I am an arsenal fan but i trully admit that c.ronaldo is better than Adebayor,if Torres was the best of these lads, than why cant i see liverpool at the 1st or 2nd position on the standings. So next time instead of wasting memory on your server, saying that torres is better, please find yourself a TV or something and watch football, which apparently you are not doing so at the moment!! STUPID
