Can Curbishley ever lift West Ham out of no-man's land?
Two capitulations in four days bring yet more question marks over the Hammers boss's ability to motivate, especially when nothing is at stake. Chants of 'You don't know what you're doing' from the Upton Park fans will not be music to his ears.

Following West Ham's Fernando Torres-inspired mauling at Anfield on Wednesday night, manager Alan Curbishley said: "We don't want the season to drift. We're in a bit of a no-man's land at the moment.” There is no manager in England who knows “no-man’s land” better than Curbishley.
The two 4-0 defeats this week to Chelsea and Liverpool have seriously dented any hopes the Hammers had of playing in the UEFA Cup next season. They now join Tottenham, their opponents on Sunday, as the only two teams in the Premier League with nothing to play for in the remaining weeks of the season.

Absolutely not. I didn't want Curbs way back in Dec of 2006, what has the man ever achieved apart from mid table mediocrity at Charlton?!? If we are to believe any ambitious statements from we have to get rid of him. The atmosphere at the ground is non existent almost exactly like the Valley. Get him BG before we go 10 seasons at mid table boredom

Personally I hope we get rid in the summer. Appreciate what he done last year but he will never progress beyond where we currently are. Were never going to win much in terms of silverware, thats fine but lets at least have a go at winning some matches rather than trying not to lose. This is the most boring season of football I've ever seen at Upton Parl. This I believe is Curbishleys speciality.

Curbs did very weel at Charlton for many years. Without money to spend and having to sell his best players he qualified for Europe at least once, and held on to their premiereship position for most of his years there. Superb. It's true his Charlton team ran out of steam for the second half of the season most years, but its expected when a team without much quality plays every game on the edge, defending deep and trying to nick a goal. By January the're all washed up. At West Ham with most of his best attackers injured most the season, he is in a similar ( though not so bad ) situation. West Ham is a team running on an empty tank. Parker and perhaps youngsters Collison and Sears could be forced in to add some energy, to give us a better finish. Much has been made of the money he spent ( 28 million ) in the summer, but he made 21 million from selling players. Curbs has done well and should be given time to finish the job he started.

I don't think Curbs has the ability to take the Hammers any further. We were looking to be in a good position to challenge for Europe and then we hit 40 points and the foot comes off the gas. We even struggle to beat the teams at the bottom let alone being demolished by the big four. You can't win matches if you don't attack and at least try to score some goals. To send a team out to try not to lose is suicidal. Sorry but Curbs has to go!!

After last season, 10th, or even 11th, will be a great result this season, It would be incredibly harsh to lose Curbs in the summer. If Bellamy & Dyer get fit and stay fit next season we will produce better football, and I'm sure Curbs will switch back to 4-4-2 once we have 2 strikers capable of playing together. We've struggled for every point this season due to the injury crisis, it's no wonder that the players who made it through are now knackered.

Curbishley's situation will be decided on the last game of the season. The chairman has made considerable investment and expects a return in the shape of silverware or at least a shot in Europe. Curbs also seems to have purchased a bunch of expensive unfit crocks and the likes of Dean Ashton who is obviously afraid of being tackled also seems intent on getting as fat as possible. Sorry Curbs but get 'em fit and you stand a chance - unfit you stand to be job searching in the summer.

WHU could bring in a billionaire along with Jose Mourinho and they would still win nothing, they are the peasants of London, nothing but dirty, dumb, interbred pikeys that dont even belong in the premiership and worship Arsenal to compensate their own crapness! FACT!!!!!

I've had enough, our football is unwatchable.Well done for keeping us up last year but i'm afraid mr curbs is well out of his depth. The players look unfit and uninspired.Change is not a word our manager understands.Cole has played as well as he could but is never going to be good enough,to play a man that doesn't score alone up front with two players who also don't score just behind [ljungberg/boa morte] is a complete farce.Ashton we all know doesn't look fit but play him,he scores goals and that is what football is about, goals! We have no playmakers and the only tactic is to punt the ball long.He has to go bring in slaven before the we all fall asleep!

A message to P.F. Get a life mate!! Here we are having a serious debate about our club and you come steaming in with your filthy comments. I'm afraid your inability to participate in a constructive debate shows your true colours which are obviously (cowardly) white! I'm not saying any more on the matter because I'm bigger than that. Lets see if you can take criticism the way you like to dish it out. As for Curbs, I say give him another season to see what can be achieved with a fully fit squad and if it is another one of underachievement then a replacement is inevitable.

He's never going to be the kind of top drawer manager that can take us onto the next level. The ambitions of the new owners far exceed his ability. At least let the guy see the rest of the season out - I do believe a more inspiring manager is required to bring in higher profile players, as well as manager that has better tactical ability as well. The highest I can ever see us finishing with him in charge is 8th or 9th and its never going to be pretty to watch. Cant believe that an oven dodger tried to join in. Lets face it P.F, nobody likes the Spuds because they are the single most deluded supporters in the land and most of them spend long nights at home on their own masturbating over Chaz and Dave Album covers.
