Scott Parker is one West Ham hero this Spurs fan would welcome
Injuries and bad luck seem to have blighted the career of the player for whom Chelsea paid £10m – but he deserves better.

Another terrific performance from the Spurs lads, brushing off memories of that abysmal trip to St Andrews – which, by the way, is one of the away trips I have never enjoyed. But one thing that stuck out for me in yesterday's 4-0 victory was the whole-hearted display by West Ham midfielder Scott Parker.
I have always admired the former Charlton man who has never quite lived up to his potential. The way he stormed around the White Hart Lane pitch, giving his all in every challenge, was a truly memorable performance to witness.
I am sure that if I was a West Ham fan I would be very happy that he was on my team – he was clearly exhausted as he was hauled off by Alan Curbishley, a manager who has of course been instrumental in the England international’s career. One must consider though what might have been for the 27-year-old Londoner.
I am not meaning to belittle the Hammers but I think it is clear that given the ability and heart that Parker possesses he deserves to be at a bigger club, and I am not saying that Spurs would be that club. I think when Claudio Ranieri paid £10m to make him a Chelsea man it really should have been the beginning of a glittering career, but he was never given a chance at Stamford Bridge and it is frankly criminal that he has just three England caps. I mean, Wes Brown has five times as many!
Is it too late for Parker to become a big star in the game? Have injuries and bad man-management scuppered his career? Alternatively, can he be the man who heads the rejuvenation at Upton Park?
All I am saying is that Parker is a player that every team could do with – and that goes for Spurs.

I used to think Parker was fantastic at Charlton but I really do believe he's found his level at West Ham now. To be honest, he can huff and puff all he likes but Huddlestone was far more impressive than him yesterday. Energy and countless running doesn't make you a good player. I was never a fan of Michael Brown at Spurs, again, a guy who gives 110%

A football fan who isn't afraid to speak in favour of an opponent. Parker ran himself into the ground yesterday and hopefully he can help us turn the corner

Is this the same Scott Parker who claimed to be a Spurs fan yet twice turned us down in favour of a pound note? Good player but I wouldn't want him at Spurs, i'll stck with Big Tom thanks very much.

Certainly in his peak was a great player but those injuries have taken a toll on him. I would take Kevin Nolan before considering Scott Parker. I think we are above this sort of player now however and should continue to persue the likes of Tiago, Albelda and Poulsen (although i expect all 3 to be playing in Spain next season.) Either way, we certainly need a solid defensive midfielder, preferably with creativity, at least until Huddlestone develops into a capable 1st team regular (or O'Hara.) Diarra might be avalable again in the summer as he seeks a bigger club, so he would be better then Parker imo.

And what about that maniac Luis Boa morte, he done alot of huffing and puffing as well but was frightening - 30,000 people could see he was going to get sent off. For some reason he could not see it and neither could Curbishley it would seem!

Why the hell would we want Parker?? We want to be a top club right?? its already been proven Parker cant play at a top club, so why would we want him? he might be too good for West Ham but he's not good enough for Spurs!!

Ho dear darren here we go again...polly want a cracker.Change the record ffs
actually micheal brown was just a dirty fucker. scott parker is an excellent player, but he has been unfortunate with injuries. he could easily get into most teams in the premier league, tottenham being one of them, (him or zokora?), we was lucky to get him, and, typically, has be unfortunate with injuries again.

I would'nt want parker at any price as said before a so called Spurs supporter but turned us down for money first chelski then those big time trophy winners & next seasons championship runners up bar codes sooner hev 1 Tommy than 5 parkers class will always surpass hustle & bustle as for curbishley i hope he stays there long enough to take the spammers where they belong down down down not this season as they are safe but next season will do after we have taken an easy 6 points in our quest for the champions league. COYS

Dave E you are 100% correct, when he went to Chelski i thought it was for the money, but when he signed for Newcastle and then West Ham, there is no way he went to those clubs for anything other than the big bucks, had he stayed at Charlton i think he would have alot more England caps, smaller bank balance but, definately more caps. Also where those West Ham mugs who were saying before the Carling Cup final that the only way we were going to be in Europe next year was if we went there on holiday, Hey who's laughing now. !!!!
Ho dear deluded alert. All back from school are you,ho dear. How about something more original...na,that would be asking too much

We dont need bloody Parker. His best is behind him, hence he plays for two bob Wet Spam now. Over-rated players, over paid and end of career players go to Wet Spam. Zamora, Etherington, Parker, Dyer, etc etc all go there for a payday as they are not good enough for other mainstream clubs like Spurs, Liverpuds, Manure, Chelski. 2nd rate players for 2nd rate clubs !! Wet Spam are sh*te anyway and the area around that area of London are like slums anyway. FFS who wants to live there? Not me ! COME ON YOU SPURS
broken record syndrome sets inzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz

I've would rather have Parker than Zokora, but to be honest I've always been a fan of Parker! But he's turned us down a couple of times now so..
by dave hall on March 11, 2008
got to agree with you ledley i dont rate neill has a captain either,Hopefully ashton will get his act together. You beat us easily no complaints there we deserved to lose
by kev confused on March 11, 2008
Yeah Parker's a great blocker and tackler but I don't understand why nobody notices that he gives away the ball all the time. Everyone seems to jump on Mullins for being a rubbish passer but Parker does it way more often!
