Spurs can make it into the Champions League, of that I am sure, but there is a certain amount of dead wood that should be off-loaded, not just because they do not fit into the grand plan but also because we can make good money from their sales and re-invest that cash iN new talent.

Pascal Chimbonda £10m – Time for the Frenchman to go. He has improved but is still far more trouble than he is worth.

Paul Robinson £10m – Time for the England man to leave, I think. Has got better but still seemingly not part of Juande’s plans.

'We got £6m for Mido so who knows what we could get for this lot'

Young-Pyo Lee £3m – Can be good on his day, but in my view pretty average performer.

Younes Kaboul £7m – Can be nothing less than a liability sometimes. I know he is in his first season and is still young but in my view just not good enough and worth cashing in on at the earliest opportunity, especially with Jonathan Woodgate on board.

Ricardo Rocha £3m – What’s the point in holding on to him?

Darren Bent £12m – I don’t think he is half as bad as people make out but he simply won’t ever get a run in the team as he is NO better than what we already have. Therefore, unless he wants a life as a bencher we should sell him and he can try to kick-start his career elsewhere.

I didn’t mention Paul Staltieri or Anthony Gardner as they are sure to be leaving anyway, although they will be fairly cheap moves as both are average at best and simply not good enough for us.

Would this lot make us £50m? It's possible. After all, we got £6m for Mido, so who knows what we could get for these.
