Spurs should sell these EIGHT players and make £50m!
There's no room for sentiment as Robinson, Chimbonda and Bent top the list of this author's 'For Sale' package.

Spurs can make it into the Champions League, of that I am sure, but there is a certain amount of dead wood that should be off-loaded, not just because they do not fit into the grand plan but also because we can make good money from their sales and re-invest that cash iN new talent.
Pascal Chimbonda £10m – Time for the Frenchman to go. He has improved but is still far more trouble than he is worth.
Paul Robinson £10m – Time for the England man to leave, I think. Has got better but still seemingly not part of Juande’s plans.
Young-Pyo Lee £3m – Can be good on his day, but in my view pretty average performer.
Younes Kaboul £7m – Can be nothing less than a liability sometimes. I know he is in his first season and is still young but in my view just not good enough and worth cashing in on at the earliest opportunity, especially with Jonathan Woodgate on board.
Ricardo Rocha £3m – What’s the point in holding on to him?
Darren Bent £12m – I don’t think he is half as bad as people make out but he simply won’t ever get a run in the team as he is NO better than what we already have. Therefore, unless he wants a life as a bencher we should sell him and he can try to kick-start his career elsewhere.
I didn’t mention Paul Staltieri or Anthony Gardner as they are sure to be leaving anyway, although they will be fairly cheap moves as both are average at best and simply not good enough for us.
Would this lot make us £50m? It's possible. After all, we got £6m for Mido, so who knows what we could get for these.

50m for these can be very well invested indeed!
by richie pearson on March 11, 2008
If you got these prices you would be a genius. Try £6m Chimbo, £3 m Robbo and Bent is not for sale at any price
by Andy on March 11, 2008
Right.. so you think we'd get 10M for Robbo? Right-e-o. We'd get around 5M (although personally I still have faith in him, just needs better competition and, who knows, maybe a fucking goalkeeping coach would help too). Chimbonda is likely to go (although he can play across the backline) but for 10M? Again, thinking less; maybe around the 7-8M mark AT BEST. Kaboul was bought for the future, Loan him out next season. I rate Rocha, but a likely departure, and 3M is fair. I don't see Bent leaving unless Berbatov stays. Either way, he'll be around next season and I still think he's a talent.

if we could get anywhere near 50 million for this lot then i would be shocked! 10 for chimbo?? i cant see anyone paying that much for an over-rated 29 year old with obvious character issues. we will be lucky to get 5 mill for Robbo let alone the 10 you are hoping for. we wont get anywhere near 12 for bent, lucky if we get 7 for him. we shouldnt sell kaboul as with king getting fit, woodgate being here as well he has two great defenders to learn his game off.

To suggest Getting rid of those altogether..Rocha,Lee definitely agreed..Robinson can still be a good competition for any top keeper so must be kept..Kaboul is a little unfortunate because he never had a chance for a slow introduction with King,Gardner,Rocha all injured..Chimbonda seems like a trouble agreed, til we won the cup he was doing everything in sight to get a quick transfer, since his attitude changed..not worth keeping ,let Gunter get his chance... Only major issue is letting so many players go which in my opinion will present a problem in having a narrower squad next year and also will leave us in need of extra 4-5 new players which will make it harder to gel together.
by Faustino Asprilla on March 11, 2008
Another waste of time article from Sportingo... the valuations are way off the mark, Bent will be kept, Kaboul too. The rest can probably go, but not for the types of sums your ridiculously high guesses are at...
by Paul Cragg on March 11, 2008
I think you would be lucky to achieve 30m for those mentioned. I would agree with all of them going with the exception of Robbo.I still think he has alot to offer and would improve with good competition for his place. I also feel that there are other players that could be released and raise enough money for better ie. Tainio (not consistent), Boateng (headless chicken) and Assou Ekotto (injury prone and yet to impress when he has played). With the size of squad we have these players and the ones first mentioned we would still have enough to compete at the highest level with one or two additions COYS

Too hard on Kaboul - first season in new country, and thrown in at deep end. I am convinced he would have been fine if allowed to sit and learn and introduced slowly. Besides, having been introduced so early, he surely would have looked far better playing alongside King (for instance). Dawson still needs someone composed and experienced, so asking him to be the calming head, and then judging Kaboul is wrongheaded IMHO

youre dreamingI wish wed get USD50mbut youre way ff target; yu have selected right deadwood; Robo 7; chim 6; Kab 6 bent 8 lee and rocca agree add gilberto- hes a big mistake . he is clumsy and in his two apearances has made riduculous mistakes 3m TOTAL 36MThe question we have to ask is if a player would get a team or even squad position in the big 4; Im worried about injury prone King and Woodgate- brillaint pair if and only if theyre fit; so we definitely need CD cover plus the 2 new keepers;

personally im glad your not my financial advisor cos you would cost me a fortune on goods that are really not worth the money...... chimbonda would like to see stay and play where he is at the moment with bale infront of him when he's back...... robbo as far as im concerned that c&nt can go!!! he has been poor since the world cup wish was two yrs ago he has been rubbish for two yrs now dont think he deserves anymore chances especially after fcuking it up again on sunday against the wham... how many more chance...... and after his reaction to being dropped and the fact that he didnt even bother to celebrate with the team when we got into the finals of the carling cup says it all for me!! fcuk him sell him 5-7m i reckon.......... lee 2m kaboul most likely 5.5m rocha 1.5m-2m bent 9-10m max cant see anymore than that to be honest!!!!

by johhno spurs on March 11, 2008
must say that ur valuations are way off. id be happy to get £25 million, let alone double that! get rid of lee, rocha, stalteri, zokora, boateng and kaboul but id like to see bent stay and robbo just needs a bit of decent competition to keep him on his toes. get rid of the deawood to west ham or pompey. would love to see us get a goalscoring midfielder and an anchorman, possibly hargreaves and scholes. Yid Army!!
by happy yid on March 11, 2008
robbo has to go.. he just cant hold or deflect a ball properly. he doesnt turn shots behind his post, he bounces them back out into the box.. all the time!!
by m boo on March 11, 2008
yes totally correct except for one, Kaboul hes only young, in his fist season so get him out on loan where he can play week in week out and i would put money on him drastically improving!!!
by leroy the yid on March 11, 2008
robbo cerny rocha gardner lee stalterie pascal tianio zakora. and some might not agree but if vwe are to push on an challenge then steedand jenas not good enough. in pompeys diarra, david villa kameni that young left winger at sevilla . someone like riquelme
by David Kirby on March 11, 2008
Certainly I would let Lee, Robinson and Rocha go. But Kaboul has real promise and is improving. Bent will also prove to be a good buy but he really needs a class creative mid-fielder to play with his style. As to Chimbonda--what exactly has he done wrong? He was upset being subbed in the CC final but what player would not have. He is strong and has played decent games at left back as well as centre back. It would be a mistake to let him go.

what a load of tosh !!!
by Neil Carson on March 12, 2008
Why stop there. Before anyone is bought in the summer, the following have to go - Robinson, Cerny, Lee, Stalteri, Ekotto, Kaboul, Chimbonda, Tainio, Ghaly, Gardner, Rocha and Bent. If Spurs have any ambition of getting into the top 4 we need rid of these guys, (who are at best average,) and get some quality in. But I cant see Spurs getting anywhere near 50m.
by jack sadler on March 15, 2008
