Wake up Dwight Yorke! You're not living in the Caribbean now
The Trinidadian has played for many Premier League sides in his career but one thing will never change - his laziness.

The relaxed atmosphere of the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago are most people's idea of luxury and calm. With the hot sunshine and beautiful beaches anyone might be forgiven for lazing around and enojying the island's tranquility.
For one Trinadadian footballer life, even in England, is relaxed - in fact no, he's just downright lazy. I'm talking about Dwight Yorke - the good-for-nothing footballer who spends more time on the front of the Sunday newspapers than on the back!
Dwight has had success at club level in the Premier League, you can't deny him that. He won a League Cup medal with Aston Villa where he spent the major part of his career and played a big part in Manchester United's three successive Premiership titles when he moved to the club to partner Andy Cole up front.
He has had various run-ins with managers throughout his career, most notably when Graeme Souness attacked him for not trying enough - good on you Graeme. When the manager and fans notice your a lazy so-and-so then it really doesn't look good.

This writer ,has no clue what hes talking about !

Ignoring the fact that a lazy player could never possibly win the highest of footballing accolades playing in/for 3 different countries. I'm beginning to suspect Mr . Goldsmiths bitterness may be stemming from a former tryst his significant other has had with Mr. Yorke.

Dwight led Trinidad & Tobago to the WC buddy, how come no mention of that .

im commenting on after he left Man Utd. He was lazy at Blasckburn - the worst player i had seen in ages. Ask any Rovers fan.

being chesterfield journalist does not qualify you to write such garbage. It is obvious that you have not let the facts about Mr. Yorke's career get in the way of your little nancy story here today.

Goldsmith, its either you're off the rails or Graeme Sounness is your gay lover... Because every manager of merit from Graham Taylor to Alex Ferguson to Leo Beenhakker has paid testament to Yorke's amazing discipline and work rate in training notwithstanding his private life. Do you know that at his age he is still one of the fittest players at Sunderland? Go put a sock in it.

you called yorke a "goal tapper" at man united feeding off the others in the squad?? HAHAHA.... Did you realize that in the treble winning season the only players of note acquired were yorke and jaap stam?? Did you research the amount of assists he laid off for teammates, in particular making andy cole the player he is/was.. Cole was the tapper not Yorke, he was the ultimate team player..

Isnt it somewhat ridiculous for you to judge his entire career on one short unhappy stint at Blackburn? Isnt that akin to someone judging your entire writing career on the verbal tripe you have decided would look good online today? Did your significant other meet him in a pub recently?
maybe this quote could shed some light on things........." It was rumoured that Souness, accusing him of not trying hard enough, hit Yorke with a tackle that could have broken his leg." For those out there who would genuinely appriciate a well written article.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_Yorke

Wow, this writer seems more lazy than Dwight himself seeing that he didn't do his research very well to see all the accomplishment Yorke has had. Maybe Yorke took Mr. Goldsmith's wife away and he's trying to get even now. All team success is not base on one player, Yorke had success with Man U because he was surronded by good players, that I agree with, but Yorke still got the job done, England have so many great players but they play so poorly. They cant even get to the Euro Cup or get to the semi final of the 2006 world cup. So sometimes being around good players does not make you a good player, you have to play your role and Yorke did that well.

Mr. Goldsmith, considering Roy Keane is at the helm of Sunderland, do you think Yorke could get away with being "lazy"? At age 36, do you think he can afford to be lazy in the showcase arena of English soccer, and still be a regular, contributing member of Sunderland? To lend credence to your opinion, I suggest you attend a few Sunderland training sessions and watch the man in action. Perhaps you may even take the time to interview his coach and get the "inside scoop" on his work ethic. BTW...I picked up some lazy typos in your article: "enojying" - first paragraph "meerly" - second to last paragraph You should at least take the time to proof read your article, before you accuse another of being lazy. Quick, fix them before someone notices.

Typical Stereotyping of Caribbean players and Caribbean lifestyle. I don't think many ppl understand how difficult life is in the islands. Why do you think ppl migrate?
by taurean ward on March 14, 2008
hahahahahhhahahah......who are u to criticize dwight ? he is better than every current blackburn player ......every player who plays at ewood parts wants to leave badly , a few weeks ago i read roque can't wait for the seaon to be over to leave
by keheelan chu for on March 14, 2008

by Deja vu on March 14, 2008
Every player that comes from the caribbean is called lazy. Please make up a new stereotype. As soon as they stop scoring goals theyre lazy. Poor Kenwyne, its just a matter of time before they turn on him as well
by shawn alexander on March 14, 2008
no appreciation for talent this is sad , now i see why u supports blackburn ,this kid has achived more than alan shearer for godness sake
by Man iCU on March 14, 2008
apart from this being a lousy article. You are missing Kenwyne in your pole for the hardest working player in the Primier League. Do some research before you start writing and make a fool of yourself. MANiCU
