Ramos's discipline will bring Spurs success - next season
After the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City, Tottenham have little left to play for. But Juande Ramos will have noted Robbie Keane's petulance at being substituted - and his target will be disciplined success and Champions League qualification in 2008/09.

Spurs completed a wretched weekend, losing to Manchester City 2-1 at Eastlands to merely add to the agony of going out of Europe. Robbie Keane opened the scoring for Tottenham but two second-half replies ensured that all the points stayed with Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side.
The fact that Man City hadn’t previously won at the Eastlands this calendar year indicates just how deep the malaise was at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Both sides seemed muted as they stumbled through a blunt opening half hour, but an alarm clock must have been ringing in Robbie Keane’s head as the Irish star slammed a spectacular goal into the top corner. From that moment onwards City chased the game but were given an invitation back into proceedings with some tinkering from Juande Ramos.
Whereas the Spaniard usually excels with his tactical nous, always using the bench to maximum effect, this time his substitutions seemed to be needless meddling. The removal of both Aaron Lennon and Keane left Tottenham with few attacking outlets.

WHY MAKE A SHIT COMMENT LIKE THAT WHEN WE ALL KNOW KEANE IS AN EXPLOSIVE PERSON ANYWAY ALL THAT MEANS WITH KEANE IS EVEN AFTER A HARD SCHELDULE ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS MAKE US WIN AND BE INVOLVED TO THE END A PURE LEADER IF U ASK ME

Of course Keane was upset when subbed as he was mobile and threatening and like Lennon in the first-half caused panic when he had the ball. So was Chimbonda upset in the CC final and Ghaly some time back. We should stop jumping on players for the slightest pecadillo, it does nothing. Keane is good and I agree a natural leader.

For me Keane can flounce around as much as he likes every time he substituted, i don't blame him for being annoyed when he has play with the likes of Jenas - 'the laziest bastard in the Prem', who always gets a full games. If everyone in the spurs team tried as hard and performed as well as Keane we'd be in the Champions League

This all detracts from the fact that yet another visit to Manchester results in defeat due to the abysmal decisions by the match officials. Spurs were robbed!!

I understand Keano's frustration, however he is the captain and because of that, he must set an example to the rest of the team, you cant have players throwing a wobblie every time we make a substitution, he has to accept that if the manager thinks it is time for a change, its the right thing for the team. coys

I think Ramos will near enough install a new midfielfd in the summer. I can see us maybe selling Lennon and bringing in a right sided winger with a final product, would love Farfan. If we could find a midfielder with Zokoras energy, determination and pace combined with Huddlestones ability then great, but lets face it neither are top four material! And a left winger is still a must along with a class centre back! The defence has taken alot of stick for defending at set pieces this season that I feel should have been pointed at our inadequate midfield!

Keane should set an example to the rest of the team especially being captain, He has an attitude of a little boy, I hope JR will not tollerate with this kind of behaviour and will use descipline not like Jol he had no descipline on the players.
