Kevin Keegan's appointment as manager of Newcastle United was perhaps the biggest surprise so far this season.

Appointing a manager who had left football because of the stress and demands was surely a mistake.

How could the Newcastle board have appointed Keegan when football in the Premier League has become more stressful than ever?

'Keegan's decision not to buy in January could cost him his second spell at the club'

Watching Newcastle play today is an even worse experience than when Sam Allardyce took over. They are a demorolised team and playing the worst football possible.

To be fair to Keegan it's not entirely his fault as it's the players who perform on the field and not the manager, and they all had a say in Allardyce's departure. Mind you, I am not a fan of Big Sam, he is not good enough to manage a big team and his ideas proved to be a flop, even with the players he brought in. And now it's all on Keegan's shoulders to try and salvage something.

I expect much more from Michael Owen and Co. They are being paid good wages and their performances are shamefull to watch. Credit is to be given to the Geordie fans who flock to St James' Park hoping to watch the revival of their beloved team and they surely deserve better for their loyalty.
