Portsmouth, Cardiff, Barnsley, West Brom - who's the REAL giant killer?
The exploits of football's minnows is what the FA Cup is all about. It's fantastic for the event, but is it better that the top four aren't involved this year?

Is it just me or has the FA Cup been more appealing this season? The first few rounds are always exciting, to see which non-league teams can defeat the First and Second Division clubs on the rain -oaked saturdays of January.
This years heroes where the tiny team of Havant and Waterlooville who reached the fourth round of the competiton. They defeated Blue Square Premier League outfit York City in the first round proper, League Two Notts County in the second round, and had an excellent victory over Swansea City in the third round, a team who are currently favourites for promotion into the Championship next season.
In the fourth round, the minnows could not have dreamed of a more luxurious match-up with one of the country's all-time great teams - Liverpool. Playing at Anfield, the non-league club scored two goals in a 5-2 defeat but still made all the headlines for their battling efforts. This colud only have happened in the FA Cup, the oldest football competition in the world. Everybody interested in football was interested in the David v Goliath match.
With the last of the non-league teams gone, it fell upon lower league division clubs to start upsetting the odds and re-writing the record books. In the fifth round Championship Barnsley defeated Liverpool 2-1. Not only was this a shock result of the highest calibre but also to win at Anfield, which is usually such a fortress, is usually unheard of. But try telling that to a Barnsley supporter!

Why are the media now obsessed with down grading the semi-finals just because none of the so-called big four are represented. Recent finals between the big four have produced the most boring and sterile finals in the competitions history. In fact West Brom appeared in five finals before Chelsea even entered the competition. Hardly cup minnows. So come on Media, give some credit to Barnsley,Cardiff,Portsmouth ,and WBA for a change instead of contiually promoting the over hyped and overpaid prima donna's of the big four.

I just hope that idiot at Reading who came out and said "I don't care two sh*ts about the FA Cup because we're not going to win it" (and I'm paraphrasing him there) is feeling as big a pillock as he deserves to! Doing the Double the Mowbray way!! Boing Boing!
