So your team is on the edge of the relegation precipice, what can you do to avoid the drop? Here are three models to avoid going down.
1. West Ham – 2006-07
Heroes: Carlos Tevez and Alan Curbishley
You could take the West Ham route to safety and lie back and think of Argentina and let your stupidly talented Argentinian (Tevez) pull you clear from the relegation pit of doom. Last year West Ham stared relegation in the face, but somehow Alan Curbishley, who took over a depleted and relegation-bound West Ham side, pulled them out of the mire. This is definitely one of the most miraculous relegation escapes – with commentators pointing out that before this Saturday’s Everton-West Ham game, the Hammers were a whopping 20 points ahead of last season’s points tally at the same stage. West Ham’s escape was in large part due to the red-hot form of Tevez as well as Curbishley’s backs-to-the-wall management, which led them to win seven out of their last nine games, including a final day victory over Man Utd.

You have overlooked West Broms miraculous survival led by Bryan Robson but interesting article and good research into Arsenal's history.

Let's not forget that game Green had against Arsenal. Tevez deservedly gets loads of credit but let's not forget the others!
