Tight-fisted Wenger has got Arsenal playing like a relegation side
Four points from 15 is pitiful and the Gunners boss must "spend, spend, spend" this summer, believes one Emirates watcher who has seen their title challenge crumble.

Although Gilberto and Jens Lehmann will in all probability both leave Arsenal in the summer, the last thing we should be talking about is how many players Arsene Wenger needs to boot out.
Such a trigger-happy changing of the guard is the last thing they need at Arsenal. The squad is far too shallow for a twin push in the late stages of the Champions League and the higher echelons of the Premier League. When your tyres are half-flat, the answer is not to remove even more air.
Inexperience may be an issue, and there is a case to be made for the fact that Eduardo’s absence has left a much bigger hole in the squad than his goalscoring stats suggest. But the biggest problem at Arsenal is their lack of depth.
In a perfect world there would be no one leaving the club this summer, just a stream of inward-bound starlets. For me, Lehmann is the only exception. He has been nothing but a moaning disruption in goal - and he's even more of an obnoxious annoyance when he's on the bench.

we need to eliminate who ever feel is not capable of working for betterment of the club for example lehnman. i know to ripe at this time is difficult but wenger is on the track of grooming and menting young players.

wenger should go out and buy the german defender Per Metascker, we need a sweeper who can organise defence, toure and gallas are similar there are both man markers and cant seem to organise our defence we should also attempt to buy another creative midfielder in the mold of Diego of weder bremen, we also need a right winger some body like samir nasri we should also try to get ricardo queresma and karim benzema then we will be set carlos vela is coming next season, rosicky will be fit so we need a defender creative midfielder and a striker

Ah, a little more revenge against the Germans from our friends on the island and abroad. Lehmann is the expert when it comes to goalkeeping, not Wenger. Please keep that in mind. Review Almunia in the CL final - not a good keeper, too many basic mistakes. Keep rolling your 'Hans' movies and demand a little more reparation. We will give it generously. England is not what it has been, sorry. not my fault, not yours either.

We need a good winger, one centre back who organises the back line and a striker who loves scoring goals as there’s no tomorrow: P

Every thing was going fine when we had two up top then Eduardo got injured and Rosicky the two that gave defenders most to think about which released the rest.Should go for David Villa

People forget SO easily.Lehmann is a brilliant goalie. No errors for Germany.Wenger shoud have given him a chance. He has to stick to his experienced players.Lehmann has had a right to moan.He can foresee what a liabiity Almunia will be.Wake up Wenger!!!We need Lehmann back in goal and NOW!!!!

Yes, AW must spend this summer . We need : 1 match-winner striker (Drogba, Torres, Eto'o...) 1 True winger who can score (Quaresma, A. Robben...) 1 defence midfielder (because Diarra was out) 1 center back good in the air and who can organise the back line. Out : Rosicky (always injured, cannot shoot), Eboue (cannot shoot), Diaby (cannot tackle and shoot)

It is true the Manager and the board are very tight and for a while have played a double act to serve the idea there is plenty of money to spend while the directors deems there is plenty of cash to spend Wenger plays his part by not spending not a penny. Wenger is a very good politician. He serves us hopes but never really shows a real desire to to deliver those hopes. Llungberg claimed Arsenal lacked ambition. Since the move from the old ground there has been no strengthening of the club merely replacements. Man United, Chealsea and Liverpool look more convimcing now while Arsenal are showing how weak they really are. I suspect Wenger knew this would occur and the players will be empty handed at the end of the season. Not because they are not good but because they are constantly let down by their manage. Everbody knew at the start of the season Arsenal were short of players except Wenger. With Arsenal there is no room for errors. Every player has to be available to play throughout the seasons to stand any chance of winning even the League Cup. To say that Aresnal are a young side and will produce more possibilitiews for the future is ridiculous. Players become good and then they suddenly want to play for another club. In the meantime we our told look to the future but the future is now. Arsenals wage structure and the intention always to buy cheap with the prospects of quality some time later on is not good enough. Arsenal will not be a great side until show a sincere desire to acquire quality players now and leave average players like Sanderos, Gilberto, Eboue and Bentner on the bench as alternative options. I think the new Arsenal synbol should be a choclate kettle and not a canon. then again maybe it is and Wengers job is to present the illusion of what we are seeing rather than what cannot be seen.
