Stop supporting Euro greedies Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool!
Whatever you do, don't back them in the Champions League. They're out to make millions at the expense of YOUR club.

Look past the Battle of Britain hype that is rolled out every time two clubs from this island meet, and ignore the oft-stated belief that we should want all English clubs to do well - it shouldn't be this way.
The Champions League is filled with fat-cat bullies from the big leagues, and the artifice that is an appeal for unified support on the grounds of national pride needs to be blown wide open.
We shouldn't want other English clubs in the Champions League to win - why do we want the fat cats to get more euro millions so that they can strangle their choke-hold on the other clubs? Do you think that any of them care about any of the smaller clubs? If they did then they would have increased the trickle of money down the leagues So much is made of the fact that four English teams made it to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League, but the lie that the press are force-feeding us - that this proves that our league is the best - is utter tripe.
How many English teams are in the UEFA Cup right now? That would be zero. All that is proven by the four-teams-in the-last-eight statistic is that the big clubs are consistently gobbling up all the prize money - money that is used to cherry-pick talent from every other team in the league.

What a load of rubbish this article is. Ed your american arnt you ? Well in that case why not next year get america to stop spending on its military and give it to africa. Its the same thing aint it. Why should i not support my team just because someone else does not get the same money. If it was bury fc rochdale and warrington up their do you think they would give to hoots about us this article is more dribble whitten by a yank win ironically is looking to make a quick buck. And how ironic again the first one to back you was a liverpool fan dont worry ed give it a month and they will hate you as well its takes these scoucers a while to figure it out

English sides in Europe, providing its not Arsenal, Man Utd Liverpool or Chelsea that are playing.......FFS its bad enough supporting Spurs without having someone elses burden foisted upon you

i'd love it if this site had a writer who had a clue. football's alot better to watch when you're supporting a team, so if your club's not in the champions league, what's the harm in supporting another english team. i support liverpool but would have liked to see spurs, bolton and even everton do well in the uefa cup. to hope a team does well doesn't give them any money, or make it any more likely that they will do well, it just makes watching the games a better experience for yourself. and so what if teams have foreign managers and foreign players and even a foreign style. if every club was full of english players and managers then they wouldn't be as good, surely it's the people who are the best at the job who deserve to do the job & your nationality shouldn't have anything to do with it, unless the writer's a bit racist?

This article has no basis whatsoever. If your team is doing well be it with whatever nationality your manager is, i don't think anyone cares as long as the club is doing well. I don't think Liverpool fans like me will ever stop supporting them, likewise Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal die hard fans. Go back to playing your boring sports like Baseball, as you clearly have no clue about football/soccer.

Of course all the English teams earn more money if English teams do well at Champions League. The better the results in CL the more attractive the English club football gets abroad, the more attractive means more fans in all other countries, more fans in all other countries will in the end be higher price for Sky Sports and Setantas TV-rights. Read your facts and you will discover that all the English teams in PL have huge money coming in through that way.

Craig - I'm not American. Your argument is therefore complete tripe.
Ari - If English teams do well in the Champions League the Prem becomes more attractive - you're right up to a point - but in reality the "English Teams" we are talking about are limited to 4 - and any interest they generate in the Premier League is vastly outweighed by the dosh they scoop up - making them richer and the others far poorer.

You will never walk alone....you will always walk with your stupid manager. United rule!

Yeah lets all support crap teams which play uninspiring football, and feel sorry for them. Go on.....
on April 09, 2008 on April 09, 2008
shitty article from a writer with no grasp of reality, you could put any four other english teams in the CL and none of them would reach the quarters, here we have 4 teams in the quarters, 3 in the semis and you are complaining.

Andy Murray shouldn't be in a hurry to break into the top five
