Congratulations to Swansea, MK Dons and Peterborough - I just hope that Martinez, Ince and Ferguson don't 'do a Boothroyd'!

Roberto Martinez has achieved wonderful things in his first season as a manager at Swansea City. I’m sure all Swansea fans love him and can only look forward to a great future.

At this time, no Swansea fans can probably imagine a time when they would be tearing their hair out and even calling for Martinez to be sacked. He will always be a hero at the club. Martinez himself will feel that he can do no wrong.

Congratulations also go out to Paul Ince at the MK Dons and Darren Ferguson at Peterborough who have also achieved promotion with their clubs in their first full season as a manager. Their achievements have been exceptional and again, they and the fans will look forward to their future with total confidence, rightly so.

That was exactly how I felt about Aidy Boothroyd just two seasons ago when he took Watford to promotion in his first full season as our gaffer. He produced miracles and was undoubtedly a hero to me and thousands of other Hornets. Unfortunately, Boothroyd is an example of how things can go wrong and how love affairs between the boss and the fans can very quickly end in tears.
