Peter Taylor has announced that he is to leave his post as manager of Stevenage Borough in order to try to find a manager job back in the Football League. But a look at his managerial career begs the question: "Who would want to take him on?"
Taylor started his career in management as player-manager of non-league Dartford. He remained there for four years, winning the Southern Cup twice. He moved on to take over at Southend United, where he spent two seasons and failed to take them beyond a mid-table finish.
After quitting Southend he went to Conference side Dover and kept them in the league despite finishing 20th, simply because only two teams were relegated that season.
Out of the blue, after just signing another contract with Dover, Taylor was offered the job of managing the England Under-21 side by Glenn Hoddle. He achieved a degree of success with the young national side, winning 11 of his 15 games in charge before being controversially replaced by Howard Wilkinson.

As a Leicester fan, just to comment the predicament we are in is down to Peter Taylor.

Peter Taylor is very able. However, he seems to go for the wrong jobs. He is a superb coach and very knowledgeable. However, at Leicester his judgement in the transfer market was bad and he seems to have problems handling difficult players.
