A final without Milan, Real Madrid or Barca? Oh s***, spare us Liverpool and an all-English bore!
The true concept of the Champions League is about to end in Moscow with Rafa Benitez's men threatening to neutralise the beautiful game into a doldrum of interminable snoring...

So, here we go. Manchester United have triumphed and we have a tantalising final ahead of us. Or so the media would wish us to believe, because let us be honest, the Moscow final has the potential to be just as bad and boring as the one in 2003, the last time two teams from the same country met each other. Juventus and AC Milan put us out of our misery with a penalty shootout that carried the same amount of excitement we find in Derby County’s attacking play.Don’t get me wrong. I congratulate Manchester United completely. Eight years out of the European limelight is enough for anybody to handle - and of course the fact that they carry the title of English Premier League champions gives them some form of legitimacy to win such a coveted crown. This leads nicely on to Liverpool, who never challenge for the Premier League title yet somehow end up challenging for the trophy of TRUE champions. How on earth is that legitimate? At least Chelsea carry some rightful status as they are always there or thereabouts in regard to challenging for the domestic crown. So, on we go. Another boring all-English affair that will not nearly generate as much interest if, for example, an AC Milan, Barcelona or Real Madrid were in the final. As former Real Madrid coach and Argentina World Cup winner Jorge Valdano said, it really would be like watching a piece of s*** on a stick. A new era of European football begins…let us hope it goes as quickly as it came.

You're a Moron, (Samir Brandao) It's not Liverpool's fault Uefa devalued the European Cup, by turning it in to the Champions League. Letting Champions of domestic leagues enter it along with 2nd place, 3rd place and even 4th placed teams. The European Cup, or Champions League has never been so easy to win as it currently is now. The fact Liverpool won it 4 times before the invention of the Champions League just goes to prove what a Fantastic football club they were. Rarely has domestic Champions won the Champions Leauge. Congratulations to Sir Alex for leading United to their 2nd Champions League Final (In 22 years) Now fingers crossed Liverpool can match them and show how good an all English final can be.

Have you seen those teams play lately? The final wouldn't be good just because of the name of the team. Those teams played rubbish this year and the teams that didn't and have given us good games are still in it. Stop being blindd by the neon lights of the so called brilliant teams

So if Chelsea won it they wouldn't be deserved winners? By the way is Brandao a sudo name for a certain moaning Portugese?

Shut up! Even an English team from the Championship can beat any other team from any other league. 1. Would you rather have the Galacticos of Real Madrid? 2. Would you rather have the scandal ridden Juve side? 3. Would you rather have the Milan brontasaurus with 30years + players? 4. Would you have some lowly Portuguese side? 5. Would you have some Lyonnaise on your pitch for dinner? 6. A Rosie Burg with tomatoes on it? 7. A German side that never seems to play football? These sides are there because they beat off strong competition from other sides and to have all the top four English sides at these stages just shows how far they have come - albeit blending with some of the best foreign talents. Foreign talent? Ask Real, Milan, Juve, Inter, Barca? Do your homework right and if you already think it would be boring whoever reaches the final - just save your time and do something you would enjoy better - watch a reply from the Bundesliga or the French, Italian or Spanish League ...... zzz zzz zzz

There's nly one response to that LAUGHTER. Maybe this idiot shuld replace his brain for a chocolate teapot, the teapt would be more useful.

Firstly, have you seen A.C. Milan's performance in Serie A over the last few years? 18, 36, and 23 (with 3 games left) points off of top spot. Yet you yearn for them to be in the final, while saying Liverpool do not deserve it. It may have escaped your attention, but The Premiership is the best league in Europe, and for this reason we can see from this year that Chelsea and Manchester United are the two best teams in Europe regardless of what happens between now and the rest of the season. Also, if you equate two defensively well-drilled teams with a massive rivalry competing on international club football's biggest stage with tedium, then perhaps football is not for you. As a Liverpool supporter, I can say whoever wins Big Ears this year will have achieved something monumental, and that an English team in the final for four years in a row and an English winner for the second time in four seasons shows how healthy domestic football in England is. The competition could do with a name change, but The European Cup should contain the best teams. It should not be about big teams strolling to thrashings of the champions of countries of football's Second World. The three teams remaining in the competition are all there on merit. Whoever wins it will surely deserve it.

Don't bother with the Champions league, watch the FA cup final instead.

Though their game against Arsenal is easily a candidate for best match of the year, 90% of the time Liverpool's matches are a snoozefest. Atleast now that Chelsea are in the final, there's a chance it might not suck so much.

Liverpool dominated from the second half onwards. Drogba's two goals were offside (Kalou & Anelka offside) and Sami Hyypia may have had a penalty. Drogba kept on diving and kept on getting "FOULED!" and Hyypia does it once and I would've love to have seen that penalty go to Liverpool as it would've been ironny against Drogba but probabl not really a 100% penalty. But Chelsea didn't deserve it. Won it with a Riise away goal!
Liverpool are way and I mean WAY! more exciting than Chelsea. Liverpool, the first team this season to score 100 goals. and Liverpool have almost always score more than once in a match were as Chelsa results are always 1-0, 0-0 etc. Chelsea grind out results and are crap! to watch compared to Liverpool.

I think Rafa got his tactics spot on last night, Didn't panic when 1-0 down, (we had to score anyway) The only little tiny gripe was when 3-1 down Kuyt (tired) should had been replaced with Crouch for last 10 mins of extra time. Without trying to make Riise a scape goat ........ His own goal made it really difficult for us to progress. Riise in my opinion is finished as a lLiverpool player, lacked pace and looked slightly unfit to me. After a good save by Reina for their 1st goal, the ball fell to Drogba (brilliant finish) but Riise never really charged at him, I think he slid in too late too block shot. ( I know if he slid in too quick he would allow Drogba to turn him, and aim at the larger part of the goal). The final straw was when he put his arm up to play off-side. Carragher was playing 2 maybe 3 onside. The first thing a defender is taught is to play to the whistle. We should be proud of what we've done in this years Champions League. Ok we've not won it, but just look at the teams we've knocked out. The way we played against Chelsea over the 2 legs shows just how much progress we've made. We are a lot closer than people realise. A couple of quality 1st team players for next season, less messing with the team sheet, a strike partner for Torres (Gerrard back to his noral ((Best)) position, and I think we can really challenge for the League. Oh I forgot to say. Really really good luck Chelsea in the Final, Friendly banter aside. I genuinely mean this. I know we've been a thorn in your side the past 3 years, but you finally got your revenge last night, !!!Congratulations !!! I hope you win in Moscow. I hope you win the League too. As a life long Liverpool fan, It would be great to watch you on May 21st beat Manchester United. Fergie has said on many occasions that the biggest match in club football is United V Liverpool, right or wrong that's his words. Then why does the muppet say "The final everyone wanted was Barcelona V United ? I know United have had the edge on Liverpool the past 4 years, but mostly they have been close encounters between the two clubs. I personally think he desperately wanted to avoid Liverpool. What do you all think ? Sparq2112

All these people criticsing me and yet they can't even spell. My word, Education really has failed you muppets! I stand by what Valdano said - it will be like watching a shit on a stick, and Liverpool exemplify that.
