Boring Avram Grant turns into Chelsea's Mr Blue Sky
The dull 'nobody' who took over from Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge is on the brink of an incredible double – with only Manchester United in the way!

Avram Grant has been an interesting character this season, succeeding the great Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. When the Blues named their new manager, it had everyone saying: “Who is this guy?” Now everyone knows about him.
Even before plotting the downfall of master tactician Rafael Benitez, Grant deserved more credit than he was given. His first game in charge was against Manchester United and resulted in a 2-0 loss. Then they drew with lowly Fulham and beat Bolton by a single goal. A six-goal thrashing of Manchester City at the end of October really announced the Israeli's arrival. Since then, they have only lost once in the Premier League – 1-0 at Arsenal on December 16.
Now Chelsea are in the Champions League Final, a feat Mr. Mourinho failed to accomplish during his tenure. Moreover, Grant did it against a Liverpool side who outwitted the Special One twice before.
Grant is having the last laugh, but what is the secret to his success? He simplifies the game and that strategy has yielded impressive results – although their domestic performances could have been better. Too many draws mid-season could end up costing Chelsea the title.

If I were a Chelsea fan I'd be over the moon. It's a case of substance over image - he has got Chelsea much further than Moron-io would have done this year - without the flash overcoats. As a United fan I am worried that he might even go the whole way.
