The Premier League is just that - it's the premier league in the world of football. No other league gets close. The Spanish, Italians and Germans may think they come close - but they simply don't.
The English Premier League is full of quality, skill and plenty of drama. The league makes the most headlines across the world, generates the most revenue and is watched by more fans than anywhere else across the globe.
So promotion by any team into this league is surely worthwhile. There is no humiliation in being relegated straight away the next season. Promoted teams should see this as a challenge rather demotivating.
It is true that teams coming from the Championship division do find it difficult to play against some of the best players in the world, but if you can survive a season or two then you can develop your team nicely, earn some good revenue from SKY Sport and Setenta Sport and build on what you have.
