It's not all Toon and gloom at Newcastle - Keegan should stop crying and starting managing
King Kev may have been right in saying Newcastle wouldn't make the Champions League next season, but he should stick to what he does best - being positive.

Kevin Keegan's rant that the Premier League is "boring" and that Newcastle will be unable to compete with the likes of the Big Four portrays the Toon boss as a whining little girl who cowers in the corner crying that the big boys dominate the playground.
That Keegan accurately pinpointed several trends in the Premier League is true. Yes, Newcastle are a long way off having a squad comparable on paper to Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. And no, Newcastle will not qualify for the Champions League next season.
However, while these home truths are common knowledge, it is not advisable for a manager of one of the largest Premier League sides in the country to come out with a message doused in defeatism and self-pity.
What makes this even more surprising is that Keegan was the man to air these views. We are always fed the clichés of "King Kev", the man who rallies the troops. Keegan is defined by virtues of positivity, enthusiasm and optimism.

Of course, if Keegan had made a bombastic speech about breaking the top four next year, you would write articles calling him and Newcastle fans delusional.this article is absolutely worthless.

Keegan: “What I said at the weekend tells you what I think is a realistic target. This club is the fifth biggest club in this country and therefore it is not out of order or unreasonable for the manager of that club to believe he can finish fifth. That’s our target next year.” Keegan also took time to clarify in what context his thoughts were aired. “I wasn’t asked about the top four, I was asked about how I thought we fared against Chelsea [on Sunday], and how far away from them I thought we were – that was the question I was asked,” said Keegan. “I said a million miles, and I think you can go around and get thousands of opinions from the fans of most of the clubs and say ‘can your team get in the top four?’. They’d probably say ‘We’d like to think so but if we’re honest, that top four has been the same for a long time’. “What I expressed was my view and I stick by that. My view is that the majority of people you speak to, who have a knowledge of the game, would say that looking back over the last six years the top four has been the same.”

Alain Goma was a bad player was he? Like many of his compatriots we've had at NUFC (all?) he had no concept of loyalty but he was a good defender. Maybe Bramble would have been a better example?

Grow up and change your agenda. Using Newcastle as a means to increase traffic to your website is pathetic. Use some intelligence please.

"Keegan should stop crying and start managing" is what I think the heading should read. Learn some proper English!

Guess you know you hurt a lot of people`s feelings who consider KK A hero. Face it, whoever you are (did you leave your name?) it was a cheap shot, an easy hit, you should be ashamed.

as far as spending goes (for the duration of the prem) big spenders: 1. manu 2. chelsea 3. liverpool 4. toon 5. spurs 6. arsenal return (PPG) 1. manu 2. arsenal 3. chelsea 4. 'pool 5. toon 6. villa 7. bburn 8. spurs - biggest overspenders - spurs by a mile - biggest underspenders - arsenal unsurprisingly checking facts rather than repeating tabloid cliches will stop you looking silly.
