Sir Alex's boys are Premier League champions for the tenth time - and who can deny they deserve the title?

After all the last-day dramas and controversies, Manchester United held on to their Premier League crown and Sir Alex Ferguson can once again sit on his throne, milk the applause and just smile unashamedly.
Over 38 matches and nine months, United once again showed a remarkable hunger and durability that eventually culminated in yet another Premier League title. When the dust settles and the mud-slinging is over, most of us will happily accept that United were by far the best.
During the season, Arsenal gave us football of lovely lyricism and eloquence. But when push came to shove, United had all the right words and sentences for the big occasion.
At the JJB stadium, Wigan's home-from-home, United were at their most cohesive and rhythmic. When a classical orchestra get their act together on the night, nothing can go wrong. Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo, surely the closest United will ever come to the immortal George Best, played all the right notes. He teased and taunted Wigan all afternoon and then scored the decisive title-winning penalty.

strange - why bother writing about a match you clearly didn't see... Ronnie was invisible

What game were you watching on Sunday? "cohesive and rhythmic" My chest was more cohesive and rhthmic the last time I caught bronchitis! As for "United by far the best" considering the tens of £m's they have spent in the past couple of years to end up 4 points ahead of Arsenal who spent a fraction of that amount is hardly "far" ahead. People should write what they see not write what they would like to have done!

Shocking ..Manchester united at their best at wigan? You kidding? Or are you a blind? Shameful...Newsnow must ban sites like this.Even the most hardcore manchester fans will be shocked..The best thing about this season has been the lovely football by arsenal and most importantly the fact that good football can compete with billions of russian and american money.Wenger can be proud of his team.

That picture of Ronaldo.at the top .... Is he doing an impression of the drug dodger when wigan should have had a penalty?

Arsenal gave United the title. I don't think United were best over the cause of the entire season.

Mu were lucky Steve Bennet a)did not give Wigan a penalty b)send Rio off in the process and c) show PScholes a red card. Facor in this and who knows Chelsea could have won the title.

Arsenal steamrollered? Not sure what you're on but I'll tell it like many other Gooners will in 2 words - St. Andrews. Yes, if a big lump like Taylor had not pummelled and broken Eduardo's leg then it would have been us and not United who won the title. We lost a striker who slowly replaced van Persie and our young team did not recover from the horrow pictures that everyone eventually saw. Its not an excuse - its fact. No doubt Fergie had a word with Alex McCleish to go in hard on Arsenal. Also, lets not forget about Steve Bennett. The guy who deemed Gallas to have handled a shot at Old Trafford somehow failed to spot the more blatant one by Rio vs Wigan. I suppose if Ronaldo or Rooney were to break their legs like Eduardo then the league will stop and United get awarded the title by default.

yeah i mean the heading. the entire season was a joke.. i did not mean that abt the teams, but the refereeing. ppl talk about the birmingham game bein the reason why arsenal failed to do well.. yes its parly true, not coz of the injury to eddie, but due to rubbish refereeing. a game we should have won. even in the beginning of the season we had decisions go against us, for e.g.: the game against boro we lost, where both their goals dubious ones. these two examples show that we have lost 5 points. i can tell u another 5 games in which decisions went against us unfairly like the chelsea game where their first goal was a clean offie. that alone w'd hav been enough for us to overtake manu. and not only w'd this have increased our points but also w'd have bought our goals conceded quite less. any genuine manu supporter or a true footy lover has to agree to this coz its true. i w'd surely love any neutrals to comment to comment on it coz u guys can really be fair.. and btw, arsene and the arsenal team boys havent made any comments on it. arsene might hav aasked them to keep all in mind and show who is boss is next season...

Once again Arsenal fans show themselves up as the bitter twisted fools they are. United are champions because they are the best team in the league while Arsenal are not even the best team in London.

The problem with answering this article is that all Arsenal fans will be accused of being bitter and all Utd fans will swear they are the best. I felt at the end of our invincible season we were fortunate with injuries and that you need some luck with your injuries to win a tight league. Gary Neville aside Utd rarely lost key players or when they did it was only one at a time. People say about Utd's extra strength in depth but we never got to see if that was true as they rarely had to rely on their back up players. Rosicky, Van-Persie and Eduardo are all big goal contributors for Arsenal and I think their combined absence was worth 6 points, which would have seen us champions. So while I will congratulate Utd I feel that it wasn't quite so simple that they were the best team and maybe Utd fans should realise that they are not way ahead of all others and that fortune (as well as good football) played a big part in their title win.

Yes we are the same old Arse, Simmo, and unfortunately you are the same old ManYoo. Yes you won the League, but that article is a travesty as a summary of the season. Overall it wasa desperately close run thing with all of the top three having their good and bad moments. ManYoo really weren't that much better and certainly not by far the best. That's the sort of triumphalist nonsense that pisses other people off.
I simply stated a fact. United won the league therefore they can be considered the best team.
The only thing is they still owe 56 million pounds in unpaid transfer fees for that team and are about 800 mill in debt... Don't count your chickens etc... The bubble will burst and the further you get in debt the less likely anyone could afford to buy out your window fitting friends....
Oh and before you start about Arsenals debt they have it on a fixed rate at just over 5 percent unlike your window fitting friends who have it tied to hedge funds at nearly 15 percent and no body wants to take the debt off them and the interest was about 60 mill last year and they only paid 30 million back, it wont last...

Not you, simmo, the article. You're just an irritating side show.
