Blackburn: An average season but who were above average? - David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz, Stephen Warnock, Brad Friedel

Bolton: Worth a mention - Andy O’Brien, Gary Cahill, Grzegorz Rasiak.

Fulham: Last-day relegation escape thanks to the work all season of - Brian McBride, Clint Dempsey, Diomansy Kamara.

Liverpool: Under-achieved by their own standards but who shone the brightest? - Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard.

Manchester City: Fantastic start of the season was led by - Elano, Martin Petrov, Richard Dunne.
