The Great Escape can be the start of big things for Fulham
Roy Hodgson has done what he said on the tin and kept Fulham in the Premier League. Now he needs some financial backing from his chairman to keep the momentum going next season.

Fulham’s 'Great Escape' was one of the most intriguing stories of the season.
At times it felt like Fulham had left it too late whilst their continual failure to pick up back-to-back wins up until the last three games of the season seemed to be signalling the end of the Cottagers stay in the Premier League.

Totally agree. I was absolutely delighted when Fulham were able to survive the odds and beat Portsmouth on the final day. Sadly I didn't see that match but I couldn't be happier for the side, which among the relegation candidates looked like the team capable of playing the best football. Crucially, they came good when it mattered. There is no doubt that the experienced Englishman has transformed the team and got them playing better and as a unit, so he should really be given the confidence to boost the team even further. However, he does need to ensure that the nucleus of his team stays where they are. Bullard, McBride, Davies, Murphy, Hangeland, Keller, Kamara, etc. must remain at the club and a new team built around them. It's too early to say whether they can do a Portsmouth and make an impact, they might perhaps need an injection of youth. But who knows?

I think upto 25 players could be leaving, including Niemi, Boca, Baird, Stefanovic, Smertin, Davis, Cook, Bouazza, Seol, Christianval, Elliot, Pearce, John, Runstrom, Zakuani amongst a few others!! THis will give Woy some much needed space in the squad to fill it with some quality players from his contacts in Italy and Scandinavia.
