Time for David Sullivan to quit Birmingham City after his "own goal" and another relegation season
The brittle relationship between owner and fans and another relegation has thrown the Midlands club into crisis. Sullivan should do the honourable thing and walk away.

Another season of Championship football looms for Birmingham City with everyone looking around for someone to blame.
The fans are blaming the board; the board are blaming Steve Bruce and his signings; Steve Bruce is blaming the failed takeover bid from Carson Yeung and Carson Yeung blames Birmingham’s lack of patience and failure to co-operate.
The question is, just who is to blame for City’s relegation and should David Sullivan remain with the club?
It’s been 15 years since the British porn baron bought into Birmingham with the Gold brothers. His time there has seen its fair share of ups and downs with two promotions and two relegations to and from the Premier League being the highlights of those successes and failures.

How can you blame the board for our relegation. There are many reasons for it, Steve Bruce and his terrible signings, Ridgewell and his inability to go a game without making catastrophic howlers, and a lack of desire in many areas on the pitch. you cant blame Sullivan or the Golds, they saved our club from extinction and deserve more respect from the fans, its a case of 'better the devil you know'

when your promoted it worth about 50-60 million but bruce only saw 9 million of that to buy players, so you can say bruce bought crap but if you only have 9 million to spend how can you buy good players with that? in total blues spent about 17 million this season. we need a board who will put there hands in there pocket to buy player to take us forward and not keep going up and down.

i wish to echo the sentiments of dick brown in that Blues fans don't really recognise what David Sullivan has done for this club; screaming "where's the money gone?" at a board who've shelled out a lot of money this season (arguably on some shite, but also some good). a lot of clubs spent a lot less than blues did and got away with it. David Sullivan could respond "MY MONEY IS IN THIS CLUB!" and i would agree. i personally don't like the man, he generally comes across as an arsehole - BUT who's going to match his commitment? if i was an impartial prospective buyer of Blues, i bloody wouldnt. leave them alone.
i dont think its possible to describe accurately the budget that the premiership gives, blues have a lot of loans, financial commitments, and the economic foresight not to do a leeds and end up right up shit creek without a paddle. 9 million on good players? lets have a look at blackburn... roque santa cruz - 3 million ryan nelsen - free chris samba - free theres three players that could walk into the blues team, 3 million. after seeing some of bruce's signings, im not surprised if david sullivan and co wouldnt give them the money. its a catch 22, if we'd have gone down anyway and ended up in financial shit, then everyone would be running on the pitch complaining about the board!

you need to realise you're just not big enough for the premier league. enjoy smashing goal posts in the championship.

are you a season ticket holder at Villa or are you one of those who sit back and have a snipe at your local rivals without actually going to a game? I was at the blues/villa 5-1 defeat with my two lads when a villa person started shouting abuse at us. (by the way, I was a guest of your owner) My mate is a season ticket holder at Villa with his lad and was disgusted at the Villa reaction. Blues are big enough for the Prem, just need the right board and direction, you'll be lost without us. GROW UP and enjoy all Midlands teams in the Prem to promote our region.

Actually if you had done any research you'll have learned that Yeung sold quite a big chunk of his shares and no longer owns 29.9% of the club much less. You'll also know that the chairmen of the club is not called Gavid Gold but David. As well as this you'll also know that the abuse was not aimed at Sullivan's family but him personally.
Some one else posted the first comment as my name but as for John Kerr yes I am a season ticket holder this article was never about having a snipe at Blues, you just need to read it properly. I can't wait for the day when all the West Midlands teams are sitting comfortably in the Premiership.

Blues are being managed by a pair of chaps who seem to have taken their inspiration from Doug Ellis. Do everything on the cheap and tell the fans how lucky they are, and be delighted just to be able to play the with the big boys. Don't worry about beating them. The difference is that Aston Villa were being held back by Doug Ellis. Blues are being propped up by Gold and Sullivan. Let them leave and watch the slide to the 3rd tier become a lurch. Remember when you were going to be bigger than Villa? Thought not! ps I am a season ticket holder and missed one away game. It wasn't the one at St Andrews.
