How Arsenal's super Sagna highlighted Wenger's eye for talent
It's hard to understand how the versatile Frenchman failed to make his country's Euro 2008 squad

When Arsene Wenger signed Bacary Sagna, he had no idea of the impact he would make. The Arsenal boss assumed that Sagna would need time to adjust; he viewed him as a long-term signing.
Wenger’s 'eye for talent' proved to be more formidable than he thought: Sagna is now on the PFA Team of The Season and was touted to be in France's Euro 2008 squad before being bizarrely snubbed.
Before coming to Arsenal, Sagna played at Auxerre. He came through their ranks and played for their ‘B’ squad before making a breakthrough at the club. In his first full season, he won the Coupe de France. He also received a call to the French Under-21 side and later that summer he joined them in the UEFA European U-21 Championship. They went victorious in all their group stage games but in the knockout round, they lost to the eventual winners, Netherlands.
The following season proved to be even better. He now commanded a regular role on the right side of midfield and his efforts won him Auxerre Player of the Season and a spot on the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

Wengers got an eye for talent no doubt, but this guy has been well known for ages! the fact he cannot get into the French squad is just further proof that Arsenal fans are to busy stuck up their own arses that they don't realise they are completely overating their trophyless team and its players!!!!
Ya thats why chelsea forked out 17mil on a right back and utd have no right back because sagna was well known... whatever!!!

just because you watch a lot of French football and knew who he was, it doesn't mean he was well known. If everybody knew how awesome he was, why didn't Chelsea or United go for him? And you say that we Arsenal fans overrate our team. Well then the majority of the EPL players overrate our team because they voted him the best right back in the whole league. I expect you to be a United fan (it would be very ironic if a Chelsea or Liverpool fan slammed us for being trophyless). Sagna is ten times better than the piece of shit Brown you play in right back. The only reason he doesn't look like the shit he is, is because the rest of the defence is so good. PS. Sagna never played centre back. Senderos filled in for Toure when Toure was away. Then Senderos filled in for Toure when Toure filled in for Sagna.

Sagna has been very instrumental in all our matches he played.I was very much impressed with all his performances in the last league campaign but was sadened by his injury he sustained before missing out the last games.
