Hair today, gone tomorrow: It's goodbye to Everton's brilliant baldie Lee Carsley
This author says a fond farewell to the second of three folically-challenged footballers. The midfielder was a shining light for the Toffees - and that wasn't just the floodlights reflecting off his head.

It's official, we now have only one baldie at Everton Football Club, when only a couple of weeks ago we boasted three poster boys for alopecia, a triumvirate that looked so alike that many a commentator was flummoxed by their shining pates.
And because they looked like triplets to the layman's lazy eye, these footballing Stepford Wives were all given identical talents by the media. All were extremely hard-working, and all were tacklers. How wrong they were.
Many a time Andy Johnson and Thomas Gravesen got credit from myopic commentators for Lee Carsley's well-timed tackles. It was testament not only to the fact that all three looked so alike, but also to the ground that Lee covered. Surely that couldn't be Carsley who had just doused multiple fires in different parts of the pitch? It was.
Carsley, a Walter Smith signing, is on his way to pastures new and, with the exit of Gravesen, it marks the end of an era for Everton's midfield. David Moyes is sure to be in the market for new recruit with only Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar, Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta currently on our books. We will need to at least double the depth of this squad to push on.
