The war of words between managers can sometimes overshadow games with Arsene Wenger and Rafa Benitez constantly trying to out-do each other in the build-up to the big games in a desperate attempt to gain any kind of advantage.
Sir Alex Ferguson is a seasoned pro in all aspects and there are many reasons as to why the 66-year-old will always have the edge over his rivals:
Rafa Benitez - The Spaniard's job security isn’t exactly the best in the league with his position being constantly put under scrutiny. Ferguson is safe in the knowledge that he has the full backing of his board and by the fans and the players, something which Benitez could only wish for.
The added pressure that comes with job uncertainty is something that Ferguson doesn’t have to think about, which can only make him more focused on the task at hand. Benitez is a good manager but in football everything takes its toll in one way or another and when you have the owners of your club warring in public it can't make the task the easiest.
The experience level is a major factor between these two as Benitez’s four years in the Premier League in no way compares to Ferguson’s 22. If Rafa does manage to get his job security from the bickering co-owners then, over time, he will be able to juggle domestic, European and cup competitions, with much more experience.
Arsene Wenger - Like Ferguson, Wenger has that job security and to some degree has achieved great success in his time at Arsenal but still doesn’t compare with Ferguson’s level of success.
Sir Alex has enjoyed unprecedented success at Old Trafford and with that comes the knowledge that he has done it all before and can do it all again. When you’ve won everything once it’s only easier to do it again.
Many people claim that Wenger is the better manager due to his ability to nurture young talent and spend in a much lower bracket than the other clubs in the top four. But you have to be amazed at Ferguson’s ability to be able to build a winning team.
There are many attributes to Sir Alex Ferguson that many managers struggle to emulate. He has everything that makes a great manager, from the arm around the shoulder as well as the expert ruthlessness to deal with the egos of some of the world's top players.
As long as Ferguson is Manchester United boss then he will always have the psychological edge over not only Wenger and Benitez, but all managers he comes into contact with.

You compared Fergie and Rafa which was fine but it was as if you started mumbling when trying to compare Fergie and Wenger. You made no comparison at all. Just that they both have job security. What point were you trying to make that Fergie has had more success?? Well look at it - Fergie 22years as United manager and Millions upon millions spent against Wenger 10years as Arsenal manager and a fraction of the money fergie has spent there is your comparison. Come back in 12 years after Wenger has spent wat fergie has you clown

It has to be remembered that the idiot Ferguson has been at Old Trafford since '86 now, a long time. He's had plenty of money and time. Rafa can only spend a few quid on Skirtel, Fergie spent £30 million on Rio. This is the difference and why they are capable of winning the champions league. Fergie's achievement in winning this years European Cup, with alot of luck, just like against Bayern is nothing compared to Paisley's time. The old European Cup was much harder and difficult to win in the days of Liverpool. You actually had to play the CHAMPIONS in every round. Now talent had been spread across numerous team in the Champions League, often at clubs that don't have the true ability to win the European Cup. Imagine if the talent around now could ONLY play for the domestic champions then you would understand that the team that played in the European Cup would be stronger. So this is proof that the Champions League achievements of Ferguson is nothing compared to Paisley's for example. Obviously football has changed now, its more about the teams that have money, that can win. In the 70's,80's,90's the mancs had equal chance as us at winning honours. Infact Old Trafford was still a massive capacity stadium. Both Liverpool and Man.Utd had equal finances, yet we won on a regular basis. Now its different. There is a massive financial difference between the mancs and LFC now. Had this current Man.utd played in the old days of 70's,80, they would'nt have been so successful, and I seriously doubt they would have won two champions league's. Take this years competition. The mancs played a POOR Roma side, and a poor Barca side missing 3/4 of their best players. The last 3 teams the mancs played in this year competition were'nt even champions. A complete joke.

Why are you trying to taker something away from him ? "he's always had money" ?? Ehh.. 1999 treble winning team: Beckham, Scholes, Giggsy, The nevilles, Butt = 0 quid. He's won fucking 4 times as much as Wenger, and you still question his talent? Specially Philly. What a stupid comment. You know absolutely nothing about football. And has Wenger EVER won in the european cup? no. Fergie did with freaking Aberdeen! Over Madrid! . So please. follow curling or some shit, because you are ridiculously ignorant.
Nasser? What a joke comment. Did Barca miss 3/4 of their players? Hmm.. As far as I know, the only player they missed was Puyol in first round. the missed ronaldinho too, but he'd probably be benched anyway as he's been all season. So where are you getting at? Roma? They missed Totti, great loss yes. but no team should rest only on one player. Too bad.

I wont even sink down to that level of pitty. For the record. he has 10 years, as he came in 96. Fergie came in 86 ;) . And just look at the succes Fergie had had 10 years ago then. Fergie won the title in 93,94,96 and 98. Winning the double in 94 and 96. plus he won the FA cup in 1990 and the worthington cup in 92. He also won the European cup winners cup . That makes 4 prem titles, 3 FA cups, 1 European cup and 1 league cup. And in a years time you can add 1 CL title, 1 prem title, and another FA cup to the same time as Wengers. So what is your point exactly mate? And btw. STOP talking about Arsenals youth development system. Bringing players at a young age in from Spain, France or Africa is NOT developing. Thats just stealing! I'm sick about hearing such deluded statements.

how many times did you beat city this season you cross-dresser? fergie never won the european cup with aberdeen. was you one of the 20 yes 20 thousand fans screeming for fergies head back in 89/90. didn't think so, your about 16 years old and have a deluded view on football. have a look back about 20 years and see which team has broke the transfare record the most. sometimes it is about money rather than good management or was chelsea better managed than manu? have you ever heard a story about a man called bob paisley who never got knighted? brian clough who never got knighted? now you go and learn a thing or two about footy, and see how the game has evolved. twit.

your story dose not add up. muppet. stick to your wendy-house.

I have nothing but laughter for your comments. deluded. First of all you. I am from 1950, grew up in Birkenhead, next to liverpool . I was at wembley as a 16 year old watching England win the world cup. And i saw United lift the European Cup in 68. please, don't insult me with you one-sided mind. I haven't said football isn't about money. The problem is, you doubt Alex ferguson's skill as a manager, because of the fact he uses money. What you don't realize is that he build that club himself, without using money. To back this up, we have the class of 92. Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, G. Neville, P. Neville and nicky butt. And then we used money on some others (keane, Cantona, Schmeichel). Arsenal on the other hand (though they claim not to) have spend money on almost ALL of their players through the years. Bergkamp, Henry, Vieira etc. (don't make me mention Jeffers) Yes, Man utd have used more money, but in the first 10 years, the ratios are not especially different. And yet Fergie still won more titles. There's nothing you can put up against this, it's fact. If Wenger was as good as Fergie he would have developed his own players. But instead he just put all his scouts in France, Africa and South America. All his English talent (Pennant, Bentley etc.) all failed to develop under him, but when they got away, they became good players and England internationals. ;) And I don't really see your point about Brian Clough and Bob paisley. Since they haven't even been subject to this matter, i find it really irrelevant whether or not they got knighted.
