Most Blackburn fans were sad to see the departure of manager Mark Hughes to Manchester City a few weeks ago - but suddenly there is fresh hope in the air with Paul Ince named as the new guv'nor at Ewood Park. John Williams is a great chairman, the fans admire him greatly. He keeps the Ewood fans informed of future plans and still remains ambitious for the club, even though they are set to lose a few big players in the summer transfer market.

Williams chose Ince for the job and I couldn’t agree more with the decision. The Guv'nor, as he is known in football, is set to become the first black Premier League manager and his youthful approach will complement the work done by Hughes over the past four years and take Blackburn further than even his predecessor could.

The former England international has done brilliantly in his short managerial career. He started at the bottom with Macclesfield Town and then moved onto to leading MK Dons to promotion from League Two.

The Blackburn chairman listened to the fans and when he couldn’t attract Alan Shearer to the job, he knew that the supporters did not want Steve McClaren and Sam Alladyce. Ince is an exciting prospect and I am excited about who he can attract to Ewood. Can he persuade old chums Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs to cross Lancashire and play their final years at Blackburn - or could he pick up a few bargains like Hughes did?

The media speculation surrounding Roque Santa Cruz and David Bentley is of obvious concern for the new manager. I think everyone knows that Bentley wants to move back to London. Can Ince persuade the Paraguayan hitman to stay at Ewood Park or will the reported interested Arsenal be too much of a lure?

One thing is for sure, if these players do leave the squad then Ince will have transfer money available to buy replacements of a very high quality. Good luck, Incey! You will certainly have the fans support at the beginning of the new season and I feel you have what it takes to lead Blackburn to glory.
