I can smell a certain whiff of Damian Comolli behind this rumour - and hope it is not true! This is the last person we should be looking at to bring to the Lane this summer. I think I would even prefer to bring back a certain Helder Postiga or Sergei Rebrov. Now I am a daily reader of NewsNow and have every "reliable" source of Tottenham news in my Netvibes and I cannot get away from seeing this story about Peter Crouch.
My first thought was not to read about it and it would just go away, but this is not happening. The opposite, in fact! Every day this story is revealing its ugly head more and more. If there is any hope Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth will sign him first before he becomes another Spurs reject, cutting out the middle club.
With the Berbatov front all quiet at the moment, the last place we need to strengthen is up front - unless David Villa is on the cards! Juande Ramos has so far strengthened our midfield well and hopefully, with the addition of David Bentley, our midfield will be perfectly finished. I was also at the Lane for the Tottenham v PSV game and Heurelho Gomes looked good. Hopefully he will be the long-term replacement for Calamity Paul. Now we need to patch the holes in the defence and a top-four place may not be such a dream.

Totally disagree with that. Just because Crouch isn't the easiest person on the eye doesn't mean he's not a great footballer. He's got excellent feet, a great touch and an eye for goal. Better than the lot you currently have, Keane exempt. And seeing that Keane is making the right choice and going to a BIG club, you're going to need a guy like Crouch to replace him while the top four get the players they want.

Since the recent rumours of Robbie Keane leaving spurs Tottenham have been linked with peter crouch. Even if Robbie wants to leave Tottenham I am sure Crouch would make a brilliant player. Everyone is moaning about him coming to spurs and he was a very good club and country record. Do not get me wrong I would prefer Berbatov and Keane any day but crouch and bent does sound like a good partnership. I am sure Ramos has a plan set out for spurs even if it sounds obscured

Bent and Crouch as our strike partnership! Are you 'avin a larf!!

crouch is awful and so is david bentley wouldn't want either off them as both are totally overpriced average footballers more to the point do we really want to lose keane 50% of the best striking partnership i have seen at spurs for years to leave somehow i think not. We would be better off signing a decent DM like gattuso or the equivilent and selling some of the awful players like stalteri, rocha, lee, jenas, bent, kaboul, ghaly, ekotto.

I think Robbie Keane should come to Liverpool. I need another striker to warm the bench for me. We will keep Crouch and maybe Robbie Williams would be more befitting to replace Keane at Floppenham?

Cant Dos Santos play upfront?? Cant help but think Ramos has brought him in to play as a striker as opposed to a creative mid-fielder. would be an interesting partnership Dos Santos/Berbi or Keane/DS

You know a man or club need to realise their limitations when trying to compete with one of the big boys, Spurs have to realise when their out of their league...Its a good buy for all partys involved, Keane has proved that he is a quality striker and so logic says that he needs to be swinging with the big boys as he is being wasted at mid table club Spurs. Crouch is decent and is the kind of quality that mid table clubs like Spurs should be competing for - not one of the heavy hitter strikers but quality wise better than average. Its a good deal for both sides involved . You see when one of us big 4 clubs come knocking for the rest of the leagues players you should accept your position in the natural order , give us what we want when we want and accept what we offer you as a token of good will for a smaller club. Thank you Spurs and Ramos for taking him off of our hands guys. Sweet deal for all...

Personally I think this is newspaper trash twaddle. The Sun manufactured the story from the weekend rumours and now the Daily Mail has joined in! This is speculation until I hear it from the club and/or Keano. I don't see any way Spurs will part with a proven goal scorrer like Robbie for Crough + 5 Mil - Little of the Sun had a few wobbly pops when he wrote that little beauty! As I always say "consider the source!"

as a liverpool i hope he stays at anfield! you would be so lucky to have a great player like crouchie and rememeber he also does serious damage when up against your north london counterparts!
