OK. so we have all been hearing about Tottenham being linked with an unusually high number of players. For example, David Villa, Samuel Eto'o and Lukas Podolski. But do the  rumours have truth behind them?

David Villa: A top-rate player in everyone's eyes, Villa has really impressed during Euro 2008. He has been linked with a lot of big clubs including Tottenham. The rumour is that he might move to the Lane for around £20m.

Now for three reasons why this is totally untrue: 1) Villa has already snubbed Spurs. 2) Tottenham won't plan on breaking their transfer fee record twice in the same window. 3) Dimitar Berbatov is still at the Lane and Villa will only be brought in when, and if, Berba moves out.

Samuel Eto'o: This was a silly target from the start. If Juande Ramos actually did bother with Eto'o, he would not leave Barcelona for anything less than £20m. He also snubbed Spurs, claiming that a move to Chelsea or Inter would be better for his career.

Lukas Podolski: Second on the top scorers' list in the Euros, Lukas is Tottenham's only sensible rumour. He has responded to Spurs' comments about making him a target and has also asked Bayern Munich about his future. They promptly ignored him.

If Berbatov leaves, and I'm afraid he might, this guy might be just the man Spurs are looking for.
